PRESS RELEASE Under the terms of CONSOB Resolution 11971/99 and subsequent amendments and additions New Board of Directors roles at GEDI: John Elkann, Chairman Maurizio Scanavino, Chief Executive Officer and Director General Maurizio Molinari appointed Editor-in-Chief of la Repubblica and Group Editorial Director New directors Turi Munthe, Pietro Supino and Enrico Vellano also coopted to the Board Massimo Giannini appointed Editor-in-Chief of La Stampa and of GNN; Linus Editorial Director of the radio business; Mattia Feltri Editor of the Huffington Post. Rome, 23 April 2020 – The Board of Directors of GEDI Gruppo Editoriale S.p.A., following the finalisation of the sale and purchase of the Company’s shares as communicated today by CIR S.p.A. and by EXOR NV, announces that Laura Cioli, Rodolfo De Benedetti, Francesco Dini e Monica Mondardini have submitted their resignations as directors of GEDI. Having thanked the outgoing directors for their services to the Company, the Board co-opted as new directors Turi Munthe, Maurizio Scanavino, Pietro Supino and Enrico Vellano. The resumés of the new Board members are available for consultation on the Company’s website (www.gedispa.it). The newly constituted Board then nominated John Elkann as Chairman and conferred on Maurizio Scanavino the title of Chief Executive Officer and Director General, wishing him well in his new role. The Board also appointed Maurizio Molinari as Editor-in-Chief of La Repubblica, succeeding Carlo Verdelli, to whom it expressed its gratitude for his work over the past year and full solidarity for the threats he has personally received. Maurizio Molinari was also appointed Editorial Director of the GEDI Group: in this new role, Molinari will be responsible for maximising the journalistic strength, the editorial products and the intellectual capital of the Group also through the development of innovative and multimedia projects. Massimo Giannini will become Editor-in-Chief of La Stampa and of GNN (the GEDI Group’s network of local newspapers), which will ratify the appointment; Pasquale di Molfetta (Linus) will become the Editorial Director of the Group’s radio business, that unites all of the Group’s radio channels; and Mattia Feltri will become Editor of the Huffington Post, and will continue to author the Buongiorno column of La Stampa.
