The Commission of Weights and Measures recognized outgoing Commission Member Michael Hensgens for his service and welcomed new members Bo Haring, Paul Coreil and Frank Lopinto at a recent meeting. Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain, D.V.M., presented a plaque to Hensgens. “Michael, thank you for your continued service. You have done a great deal for the state and the agricultural community,” Strain said. “For all of you who are new, thank you for your future service.” Strain said the commission has a great deal of responsibility. Both the public and private sectors depend on the fair regulation of weights and measures. Hensgens credits his father for influencing him to give back to the industry that has been so good to him over the years. “It has been an honor to serve on this commission.”
