Juli 2014 UDR/ADA/Warner Ministry haben Anteil daran, dass sich die Musikindustrie veränderte. Ihre Musik war wie eine Bombe, die jedermann umhaute. Nach mehr als 31 Jahren ist es das Ende dieser großartigen Band und das letzte Live Dokument – ‚The Last Tangle In Paris‘ ‚Last Tangle In Paris‘ dokumentiert eine Zeitkapsel der Musikhistorie, die es so niemals wieder geben wird. Neben Live-Performances von Ministry enthält sie ebenso rare Backstage-Aufnahmen und Interviews. Diese Dokumentation zeigt die letzten live Aufnahmen von Ministry und ist der letzte Auftritt dieser Band. Die US-Dates der damaligen DeFiBRilLaTouR umschlossen vier Städte – Denver, Los Angeles, New York und zwei Gigs in Chicago. Im Anschluss flog die Band ins finnische Helsinki, um ihre siebenwöchige Europatour zu starten, die sie in Clubs und zu Festivals in Norwegen, Schweden, Dänemark, Deutschland, den Niederlanden, Belgien, Frankreich, Irland, England, Spanien, Schweiz, Polen, Ungarn, der Tschechischen Republik und Russland führte. Die DVD enthält unter anderen die legendären Songs Psalm 69 und New World Order. Als Bonus enthält die Digipack-Version ein Doppel-Audio-Album als Tour-Retrospektive mit Live-Aufnahmen, die bis ins Jahr 2006 zurückreichen. Dieses letzte und wertvolle Statement ist als 2CD & DVD Digipack, BluRay & 2 CD Amaray, 3-fach Vinyl Gatefold in 160 Gramm, als einfaches CD Paket und auch Digital Audio und Video erhältlich. DEAD CHANNEL SURFING: Cyberpunk and industrial music In the early 1980s from out of Vancouver, home of cyberpunk writer William Gibson and science fiction film-maker David Cronenberg, came a series of pioneering bands with a similar style and outlook. The popular synth-pop band Images in Vogue, after touring with Duran Duran and Roxy Music, split into several influential factions. Don Gordon went on to found Numb, Kevin Crompton to found Skinny Puppy, and Ric Arboit to form Nettwerk Records, which would later release Skinny Puppy, Severed Heads, Moev, Delerium and more. Controversial band Numb ended up receiving less attention than the seminal Skinny Puppy. Kevin Crompton (now called Cevin Key) joined forces with Kevin Ogilvie (Nivek Ogre) and began their career by playing in art galleries. After their friend Bill Leeb quit citing ‘creative freedom’ disputes, they embarked on a new style along with the help of newly recruited Dwayne Goettel. Leeb would go on to found Front Line Assembly with Rhys Fulber in 1986. The style of music created by these bands, as well as many similar others, has since been dubbed ‘cyberpunk’ by some journalists. Cyberpunk represents an interesting coupling of concepts. It can be dissected, as Istvan Csiscery-Ronay has shown, into its two distinct parts, ‘cyber’ and ‘punk’. Cyber refers to cybernet- ics, the study of information and control in man and machine, which was created by U.S. American mathematician Norbert Wiener fifty years ago. Wiener fabricated the word from the Greek kyber- netes, meaning ‘governor’, ‘steersman’ or ‘pilot’ (Leary, 1994: 66). The second concept, punk, in the sense commonly used since 1976, is a style of music incorporating do-it-yourself (d.i.y) techniques, centred on independence and touting anarchist attitudes.

Chris Connelly : INITIALS C.C. Out-takes, Rarities and Personal Favourites 1982-2002 vol.1 01. Detestimony – Fini Tribe: This was the “A” side of an EP called “Let the Tribe Grow,” written and recorded when the Fini Tribe was going through great musical changes. We had acquired an Ensoniq ‘Mirage’ sampling keyboard, and as was the same for a lot of bands at the time, it changed everything, opened up a lot of doors, and led us into some very uncharted waters. The actual piece was whittled down from a fifteen-minute opus we had written. I remember being in Philip Pinsky’s bedroom one night with John Vick. Philip’s then-roommate, Lindsay, gave us an old quarter-inch reel of tape he had. On it was a beautiful recording of the church bells you hear on the song; we sampled them and came up with the melody. The EP actually did better than any of us had anticipated and became a sort of hit in the Ibiza clubs at the very advent of the acid house/rave phenomenon. We actually went ahead and re-wrote/re- structured the song for the WaxTrax! Records release (“Make it Internal/Detestimony Revisited”) a couple of years later. 02. Mania – Murder Inc.: Certainly what I feel is the most compelling song on the one and only album released by Murder Inc. The band was basically Killing Joke, minus Jaz Coleman (Killing Joke’s singer), plus me, as well as the original drummer, Paul Fergusson, and newer drummer, Martin Atkins. The sessions took place at Pachyderm Studios in rural Minnesota during September of 1991.
