Halloween Bike Tour 7 Upon finishing my master’s program, I was at a crossroads: pursue a career in Halloween Carnival 7 counseling, or continue working in recreation. At that point, I made the decision to continue in recreation, and it was the right decision! I haven’t left recreation Specialized Programs since, and have worn many different hats related to recreation. Currently I help Aquatics Programs & Swim Lessons 46-49 oversee operations at the Community Recreation Center (CRC), Temecula Around & About Temecula 58 Skate Park, the CRC Summer Day Camp program, as well as special projects Measure S Improvements 54 on safety and emergency preparedness at several City facilities. At the end of Photo Contest/Parks & Recreation Month 60 each day, I take a minute to reflect on what a privilege it is to live, work, and Responsible Compassion 55 play in such a wonderful city. I started as a Theater Technician and have worked my way from the Temecula Valley Museum 38-39 introductory position to Lead Technical Assistant, lighting, and sound designer for City productions, local producers, and Resident Companies. Ages: 7-17 Years “Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...” and thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and a ton of fairy tale misfits, and you’ve got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there’s one on hand...and his name is Shrek. There are a variety of roles, large and small, to fit all ages and levels of experience. Program is taught by TVUSD Drama/Music/Dance teachers. This 19-week program includes 16 weeks of rehearsals, one week of dress rehearsals, and will conclude with two weekends of performances that will be held at the beautiful Old Town Temecula Community Theater. Auditions will be taught at the first class and no materials or experience necessary. Not all roles will be required to attend each rehearsal. Instructor will provide a calendar listing when each role will be required to attend.

Class waitlists are reviewed on a regular basis to determine if additional class sessions can be added or class sizes can be increased. Missed Classes and Class Changes Class fees will not be pro-rated or credited for missed sessions. The City reserves the right to cancel activities, substitute instructors, change locations and/or dates and times as necessary. In the event that a class has changed, the City will make every effort to contact all registered participants and provide a make-up class or a credit in the amount of the missed class if a make-up session is not available. Transfers and Refunds • All requests for transfers and/or refunds must be requested (5) business days prior to the class start date. A 20% processing fee will be deducted from all refunds. Requests for refunds or transfers made within (5) business days can be emailed to [email protected] or by calling the Class Hotline at 951-694-6480. Requests for refunds or transfers for swim lessons must be requested from the Aquatics Office (2) business days prior to the first lesson date. • If a participant is dissatisfied with a class, they must send an email to the Community Services Department at [email protected] or call the Class Hotline at 951-694-6480 prior to the second class to request a credit that can be applied to another class in the future. Refunds will not be given for classes after the start date. • If a participant is unable to continue in a class after the class has begun due to a health issue, a medical excuse must be provided to obtain a credit that can be used to retake the class or applied to another class in the future. Charges for classes attended will be deducted from the credit. Photo Policy Please be advised that all participants involved in any City program or event are subject to being photographed. Such photographs may be used by the City of Temecula without obligation to provide compensation to those photographed.
