SOMERSET COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

WHEREAS THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF SOMERSET (hereinafter called "the Council") is the Highway Authority responsible for the maintenance and repair of
Lane From The Old Byre to The Cross; Crickham and Rughill, Wedmore – from the junction with Lascot Hill to the junction with Long Hill, a distance of 1375 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 15th October 2018 for 24 days.
Church Lane, Badgworth - from the junction with Lane through Badgworth to the junction with Badgworth Lane, a distance of 810 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 18th October 2018 for 7 days.
Alston Sutton Lane, Weare – from the junction with Mill Lane to the junction with Quab Lane, a distance of 665 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 22nd October 2018 for 3 days.
Snipefield Lane, Wedmore – from the junction with Lascot Hill to the junction with Westfield Lane, a distance of 850 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 26th October 2018 for 5 days.
Church Road, Lympsham - from the junction of South Road to the junction with Lympsham Road, a distance of 315 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 29th October 2018 for 9 days.
Ham Lane, Chapel Allerton - from the junction with Rectory Hill to outside the property Crooked Cottage, a distance of 90 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 30th October 2018 for 3 days.
Cocklake Lane/New Road, Wedmore – from the junction with B3151 Cheddar Road to the junction with Dungeon, a distance of 380 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 6th November 2018 for 4 days.
Copsewood Lane, Chapel Allerton- from the junction with Stone Allerton Drove to the junction with Short Lane, a distance of 420 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 6th November 2018 for 4 days.
Brean Down Road and Warren Road, Brean - from the junction with Weston Road to the entrance to Brean Down Cove, a distance of 2420 metres. The proposed start date is 7th November 2018 for 28 days.
South Road, Lympsham - from the junction with West Road southwards for a distance of 876 metres. The proposed date of the closure is 28th November 2018 for 10 days.
in the Parishes of BADGWORTH, BREAN, CHAPEL ALLERTON, LYMPSHAM, WEARE AND WEDMORE in the District of SEDGEMOOR in the County of Somerset (hereinafter referred to as "the said road");

AND WHEREAS the Council has given notice in pursuance of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) of its intentions to make an Order PROHIBITING TEMPORARILY the use of a part of the said road by ALL VEHICULAR TRAFFIC:
NOW THEREFORE the Council in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by virtue of Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) HEREBY MAKES THE FOLLOWING ORDER:-
1. Save as hereinafter mentioned ALL TRAFFIC SHALL BE PROHIBITED from using that part of the said road, for a period not exceeding eighteen months in the first instance until the works being executed or proposed to be executed on or near the said road shall have been completed.
2. This Order is required to facilitate highway works and is necessary for the safety of the workforce whilst carrying out their duties. The restriction shall apply when indicated by traffic signs.
3. This Order shall come into operation on 9th October 2018
4. Nothing in this Order contained shall be deemed to prohibit all traffic from using the above-mentioned length of road EXCEPT THAT PART THEREOF UPON WHICH THE WORKS ARE BEING CARRIED OUT if such use is necessary
(i) for the conveyance of persons, goods or merchandise to or from any lands or premises situate on or adjacent to the length of road hereinbefore described; or
(ii) for the purpose of agriculture in connection with land adjoining or lying near to the length of the said road or for the conveyance or haulage of timber felled upon such land.
