Williams Lieutenant General Superintendent United States Military Academy The following Cadet awards are donated by prominent organizations and individuals in recognition of outstanding achievement by Cadets in academic, military, and athletic endeavors. The 2020 awards consist of: The General Robert E. Wood Distinguished Cadet Award, established in 1968. A Silver Tray is awarded to the Cadet with the highest class standing. Awarded to: Lynne D. Mooradian The Uruguayan Army Award, established in 2004. A medal and plate awarded to the Cadet with the highest class standing. Awarded to: Lynne D. Mooradian The Peruvian Army Award, established in 1964. A medal and replica saber awarded to the Cadet with the highest class standing. Awarded to: Lynne D. Mooradian The Major General Francis Vinton Greene Memorial Award, established in 1929. A Silver Tray is presented as a memorial to the late General Greene, Class of 1870, to the graduating Cadet achieving the highest class standing. Awarded to: Lynne D. Mooradian The Brigadier General Elvin R. Heiberg Memorial Award, established in 1969. A Silver Tray awarded by the Class of 1926 for the highest composite standing in Applied Science and Engineering. Awarded to: Lynne D. Mooradian The Army Athletic Association, Special Award. A Silver Tray Awarded to the Cadet who exhibited outstanding leadership in athletic competition. Awarded to: Lynne D. Mooradian The West Point Chapter, Daughters of the United States Army Award, established in 1982. A Silver Tray awarded for excellence in Women's Physical Development over four years. Awarded to: Lynne D. Mooradian The Brigadier General John R. Jannarone Memorial Award established in 1999. A Silver Tray awarded by the Class of 1938 to the Cadet with the highest class standing in Academics in honor of General Jannarone, 5th Dean of the Academic Board, 1965-1973. Awarded to: Gavin P. McAuliffe The National Ladies Auxiliary, Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America Award, established in 1963. A Silver Tray awarded in honor of Mr. Benjamin Kaufman, winner of a World War I Plaque of Honor, for the highest rating in Humanities. Awarded to: Gavin P. McAuliffe The Major General John D. Altenburg, Jr. Award, established in 2001. A Silver Tray awarded in memory of Antoinette Marie and Angelo Michael Salvatore, by Dolores Ameri Salvatore and Colonel Ronald A. Salvatore for outstanding achievement in Law. Awarded to: Gavin P. McAuliffe The Pershing Sword Award, established in 1929, presented in the name of the late William F. Lewis, Department of Physical Education 1945-1978, to the Cadet First Captain and Brigade Commander in commemoration of General Pershing, the First Captain of the Corps of Cadets in 1886. Awarded to: Daine A. Van De Wall The Theodore S. Westhusing Memorial Award, established in 1970. A Silver Tray awarded to the Cadet with the third highest class standing. Awarded to: Daine A. Van De Wall The Knox Trophy, established in 1910. A Silver Bowl awarded in the name of the Sons of the Revolution in the State of New York to the United States Corps of Cadets as a trophy on which is inscribed each year the name of the cadet with the highest standing in the Military Program as determined by the Cumulative Military Program Score. Awarded to: Daine A. Van De Wall The Olmstead Foundation Award, established in 1970. A Silver Tray awarded to the Cadet with the second highest class standing. Awarded to: James A. Albright The National Organization of the American Legion Award, established in 1935. A Silver Pitcher awarded for outstanding achievement in Chemistry. Awarded to: James A. Albright The National Organization, American Legion Auxiliary Award, established in 1952. A Silver Tray awarded to the Cadet Officer commanding the Second Regiment. Awarded to: James A. Albright The Brigadier General Winfield S. Scott Memorial Award, established in 1983. A Silver Pitcher awarded for excellence in Engineering Management. Awarded to: Paul T. Williamson, Jr. The Colonel John A. Robinson Memorial Award, established in 1961. A Silver Tray awarded in the name of Mrs. Abigail R. Boylan, in memory of her father, Class of 1910, to the outstanding player on the Sprint Football Team. Awarded to: Paul T. Williamson, Jr. The Colonel John S. Roosma Memorial Award, established in 1993. A Silver Tray awarded to the most valuable player on the Men's Basketball Team. Awarded to: Thomas E. Funk The Men’s Army Athletic Association Trophy, established in 1904. A Silver Tray Awarded to the Cadet who contributed the most valuable service to athletics during his Cadet career. Awarded to: Thomas E. Funk The Lieutenant General Robert F. Foley Award of Honor, established in 2008. A desk clock, book, medallion and certificate awarded to the Cadet who has overcome obstacles and difficult circumstances during their Cadet career. Awarded to: Montgomery E. Potter The Lieutenant General William Howard Arnold Memorial Award, established in 1978. A Silver Tray awarded by his family to the Cadet Officer commanding the Third Regiment. Awarded to: Montgomery E. Potter The Suzanne and Walter Scott, Jr. Award, established in 2015. A mounted Cadet Saber is awarded to the highest degree of excellence in Mechanical Engineering. Awarded to: Brian T. Savidge The Colonel Herbert Bainbridge Hayden Memorial Award, established in 1971. A Silver Tray awarded for the highest standing in the Basic Sciences. Awarded to: Matthew A. DiBiase The Bainbridge-Reynolds-Hayden Family Memorial Award, established in 1973. A Silver Tray awarded for the highest standing in all History courses. Awarded to: Gregory S. Brookover The Brigadier General Charles J. Barrett Memorial Award, established in 1966. A Silver Tray awarded for excellence in Advanced Foreign Language Study. Awarded to: John H. Provost The General John J. Pershing Memorial Award, established in 1948. A Silver Tray awarded in the name of the National Organization, Army and Navy Union, USA, for the highest rating in Military Science over the four year course. Awarded to: Judson C. Haggard The First Lieutenant David R. Bernstein Memorial Award, established in 2003. A Silver Tray awarded to the Cadet with the fifth highest class standing. Awarded to: Nathaniel J. Schlosser The 306th Infantry Award, established in 1954. A Silver Tray awarded in the name of the late Walter B. Tunick for excellence in Men's Physical Development over four years. Awarded to: Benjamin L. Jones The Colonel Edward H. White II Memorial Award, established in 1971. A Desk clock awarded to the outstanding graduating member of the Men's Soccer Team. Awarded to: James T. Mitchiner The Major General Henry L. Hogan III Memorial Award, established in 1997. A Mounted Cadet Saber awarded by the Class of June 1943 to the Class President of Graduating Class. Awarded to: Joshua O. Phillips The Lieutenant Colonel Len M. Hanawald Memorial Award, established in 1971. A Silver Tray awarded in the name of his mother, Mrs. Carl C. Chandler, to the Deputy Brigade Commander of the United States Corps of Cadets. Awarded to: Michael R. Worth The James Dillon Clinton Memorial Award, established in 1981. A Silver Tray awarded to the Brigade Executive Officer of the United States Corps of Cadets. Awarded to: Austin A. Morock The Major General Joseph P. Cleland Memorial Leadership Award, established in 1976. A Mounted Cadet Saber awarded to the Chairperson of the Cadet Honor Committee. Awarded to: Bradley L. Wanovich The Class of 1999 Award, established in 1962. A Silver Tray awarded to the Cadet Officer commanding the Fourth Regiment. Awarded to: Dion D.
