Tim Farrell Vice President, Business Development and Strategy

Tim is the vice president of Business Development and Strategy for Ingalls Shipbuilding. Named to this position in September 2015, Tim is responsible for developing and executing Ingalls’ future business activities and strategy. This includes coordinating capture team efforts for new contracts and working with the company's government and customer relations teams to optimize new business development activities.

Most recently, Tim was vice president of New Navy Programs where he was responsible for leading our efforts to capture new Navy business for Ingalls. He joined Ingalls Shipbuilding (formerly Northrop Grumman Ship Systems) in 2006 as Sector vice president and General Manager, U.S. Navy Programs. Tim has also served Ingalls as vice president, Engineering and ILS, vice president, LHD and LPD Programs as well as vice president, Operations. Tim began his career with Northrop Grumman Corporation in November 1982 as a Test Program Set Engineer for the Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) organization on the EF-111 Program. He joined the Joint STARS Program at its inception as a Senior Engineer in the ILS Design Department and held positions of increasing levels of responsibility with the company including: Radar Program Manager; Deputy Director of Engineering for Integration and Test; Joint STARS Engineering Manager; Deputy Director of Engineering; Production Program Manager, Prime Mission Equipment; Program Director, Joint STARS Support Programs; Program Director, Joint STARS Production; Deputy Site Manager & Production Program Manager, Lake Charles; Program Director, Platform Systems Integration & Modification Capture IPT and Sector MC2A Capture Team Lead; Deputy and IPT Lead for AEW Programs; vice president and IPT Leader AEW Programs. Tim is the executive sponsor for the Ingalls chapter of the Society of Women Engineers, and the Veterans Employee Resource Team (VERT). He is a member of the American Society of Naval Engineers and the Surface Navy Association. He has also been a guest speaker at the Jackson County Literacy Council. Tim graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Magna Cum Laude in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He is a senior member of IEEE, Eta Kappa Nu (National Electrical Engineering Honor Society) and Tau Beta Pi (National Engineering Honor Society). He holds a Master of Business Administration from Webster University, where he graduated with honors in 2002.
