Shop Front Improvements • Stylish new designs for the front of some of Tottenham’s best independent shops are being installed as part of the council’s work to help boost local trade and improve our high streets • 21 shops in total will be improved along West Green Road and the High Road, including high level works and artwork to the side elevations of some shops • Businesses are working with architects You&Me on bespoke designs that will bring their shops to life • The £90,000 project, funded by the Greater Authority, follows the transformation of three of West Green Road’s businesses in a pilot last year – Bom Pecado, ABBA and Uncle John’s Bakery – as part of the Growth on the High Road project

Bridge Art • This is a £20k project that has been funded by the Arts Council and Haringey Council to create four artworks to brighten up West Green Road and the railway bridge • Local artist Jennie Pedley has worked with students at Park View School, Seven Sisters School, Belmont Junior School, The Vale School and the Blanche Nevile School for Deaf Children as part of the project to transform the walk-way under West Green Road Bridge Shopfront improvements – Partyware before and after © You&Me architecture

Pocket Park • The West Green Road Pocket Park, opened May 2015, has transformed a cul-de-sac into a tropical oasis just off West Green Road • Funding came for the Mayor of London’s Pocket Park programme and was matched by Haringey Council • The work of the West Green Road Improvement Group, made up of local residents and traders, was central to the proposals and helped to shape the designs of the park • The park includes an innovative tropical garden, filled with hardy, colourful plants and mouth-watering edibles, reflecting local diversity, accessible raised planters for local schools to use and seating and space for informal gatherings and organised events
