1 | Thank you for your support in 2011 and 2012. %ankIn fact, for the past 12 years your generosity has helpedyou Midwest Foster Care and Adoption Association (MFCAA) provide life changing services for abused and neglected children and the families caring for them. Together we have impacted the lives of thousands of children.

In this bi-annual report we are pleased to share information highlighting the incredible growth we’ve seen in our programs, services and events over the past two years. We invite you to share in the pride we feel about this important work we do and the amazing outcomes we have experienced.

Some memorable moments from the past two years include: ฀ ฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀ Kansas City’s most at-risk youth. A video highlighting one ER success story can be found at www.mfcaa.org. ฀ ฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀ Independence, Missouri. In this home children and families receive the intensive support and services they need in order to be reunited quickly and safely. ฀ ฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀ or lower rate nationally. ฀ ฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀ environment of family fun and collaborative learning. The ONE Conference, held in mid-Missouri in early summer is now the premier learning event serving more than 300 resource providers all across Missouri. ฀ ฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀ to adequately support the needs of abused and neglected children in foster care.

Our focus is, and always will be on children. We continue to hear stories about situations where children in our ฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀ array of support to our families. These are families who will, without judgment, make a place in their hearts and their homes for a child who has experienced physical and emotional trauma. With your continued help, we will see to it that they never have to take on that challenge alone.

As we look to the future, we recognize that there is an immediate and pressing need for the services we provide. There are currently more than 1,800 children in foster care in the Kansas City area, an increase of 51% over the past five years. Our strategic plans for 2013 and 2014 include the expansion of our Family Connections program ฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀฀ successful licensing program. As we continue to grow we will keep our eyes squarely focused on the purpose for which we exist. Together with you, we look forward to the next two years of transforming children’s lives, one child and one family at a time!

Sincerely,
