Thai Geography Course Description

Subject Teacher: Rollin Miller Matayom : 5 Academic Year: 2014 Semester: 1 Subject Code: Soc 32101 Subject: Thai Geography 2 Period/ Week/ Semester Unit: 1.0 Course Description: A systematic introduction to the processes operating on the surface of the earth, their spatial variation, and their contribution to the spatial patterning of life on earth. The course stresses interactions among climate, landforms, soils and vegetation and, to a lesser extent, examines human interaction with the environment. The relationship between the physical and human geography of will be determined and analyzed. Learning Outcomes: 1. Students will understand the physical characteristics of the Earth and relationship of various things in the environment which affect one another. Maps and geographical instruments will be used for research, analysis, synthesis of geo-data and information. 2. Students will understand the interrelationship between man and physical environment. 3. Students will gain an awareness of the importance the conservation of resources and the environment for sustainable development. Content Topics: 1. Tourism Geography Course Description

Students will develop an understanding and appreciation of the ways in which the natural environments, economies, cultures, and other aspects of Thai regions interact. Learning Outcomes:

1. Students will gain an awareness of the importance the conservation of resources and the environment for the sustainable development of the tourist industry in Thailand. 2. Students will understand the interrelationship between human activity and physical environment. 3. Also the economic issues that need to be brought to attention among ASEAN member countries, particularly foreign investment and investment opportunities for Thailand. Learning Outcome: 1. To be able to differentiate the economics with the economy 2. To understand the history and purposes of the AEC 3. To analyze economic trends of ASEAN, rate of economic growth in ASEAN member countries. 4. To study business pattern of Thailand in the AEC member countries.
