Como la mayoría de ustedes saben, el obispo Doherty me ha asignado el cargo de vicario parroquial de Saint Boniface en Lafayette a partir del 1 de julio de 2019. Quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para agradecerles a todos y asegurarles mi oración continua por la gente. Parroquias de San Ambrosio y Santa María. Hace cuatro años, le dio la bienvenida a un sacerdote recién ordenado a su comunidad. Sí, había recibido seis años de formación en el seminario, pero como les digo a nuestros seminaristas, “No hay tal cosa como estar listo para el sacerdocio. Solo hay que estar lo suficientemente preparado ". Estaba emocionada y esperanzada, pero no tenía idea de lo que me esperaba en Anderson. Monseñor amablemente me recibió y me guió con gran fraternidad durante estos primeros años. El primer pastor de un sacerdote es sumamente importante y estoy muy agradecido de que la Providencia del Señor me haya dado a Monseñor como mío. Sé que a lo largo de estos años he cometido muchos errores. Lamento cualquier problema que haya causado a alguno de ustedes a través de estos errores o debilidades. Espero que ambos me perdonen y oren para que yo aprenda de estas experiencias y que recuerde las lecciones. Estos han sido años muy felices para mí. Juntos hemos enfrentado muchas alegrías, tristezas, tragedias y triunfos. Ha sido un honor para mí ser uno de los sacerdotes de su parroquia a través de estos eventos en nuestras vidas. Hoy celebramos el domingo de la Trinidad, una fiesta centrada en el misterio más grande de nuestra fe. Nos damos cuenta de que nos hemos convertido en una comunidad católica aquí en Anderson debido a la comunidad eterna de las Personas de la Trinidad. Nuestro Dios nos ama más allá de nuestra capacidad de expresar, y ese amor ha continuado desarrollando diócesis y comunidades parroquiales donde podemos experimentar Su gracia a través de los Sacramentos y nuestras interacciones personales como Su pueblo. Sé que las diferentes tareas brindan nuevas experiencias para que un sacerdote joven las aprenda, pero la realidad es que todo lo que sé es que St. Ambrose y St. Mary son y Anderson se ha convertido en mi hogar. El seminario me preparó para ser sacerdote, pero en muchos aspectos, todos ustedes me han enseñado lo que significa ser sacerdote. The gathering will last until about 3 PM. All parishioners from both parishes are invited to stop by and wish Fr. Shine “Fare Thee Well” as he prepares to go the Saint Boniface Church in Lafayette, IN, on July 1, 2019.

Your fellow Pilgrims of Faith await the honor of your presence at the Celebration of the 60th Priesthood and 35th Episcopal Anniversaries for Bishop William L. Higi on Tuesday, August 13, 2019. The celebration will be from 2 until 5 PM at St. Mary (if the weather co-operates) or at St. Ambrose (if it’s a stifling hot day). Light sandwiches, cupcakes and drinks will be served. Come congratulate a local fellow who made the big time!

SPECIAL INVITATION—On Thursday, June 27, Bishop Doherty invites anyone interested in learning about his vision for the diocese to attend a special meeting at St. Mary church in Muncie (2300 W. Jackson St.) from 9AM until Noon. This meeting is for all registered persons in any of the parishes that make up the Muncie Deanery (of which the city of Anderson is a part). The purpose of the meeting is to learn more about future planning and possible parish configurations for our diocese. NEXT SUNDAY Corpus Christi Procession— June 23 from 12:50 PM to 5 PM All in the community are invited as we process with the Blessed Sacrament from St Mary Church to St Mary Cemetery and on to St Ambrose. The procession will conclude with Benediction at St Ambrose and a cookout! You can walk any or all of the procession or meet us at St Ambrose. All details are on the fliers posted at both Parishes!

RCIA: Faith journeys twist and turn through life. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is the path that leads to a relationship with Jesus Christ in His Church. If you are not baptized or want to know more about how to become Catholic, this is the place for you! You are invited to come find out more without pressure, and your questions are welcomed. Fair Trade Coffee and Chocolate You can purchase Fair Trade coffee and chocolate after the masses at St. Mary, the weekend of June 22nd. Pictorial Directories—A limited supply of directories are available for $10 at the coffee table at St. Mary or at the SCRIP station at St. Ambrose. One per family, please.

The Catholic Community of Anderson will be serving Vegetable-Beef soup, cheese and crackers, and fruit at Alternative Shelter for Women and Children and the Christian Center Shelter on Wednesday, June 26th.

SOUP KITCHEN MENU “For I was Hungry and you gave me Food.” (Mt 25:35) The Catholic Com- munity of Anderson encourages everyone to bring any of the following food items to church and place them in baskets during the weekend Masses on June 26th: 14.5 oz cans of corn, diced tomatoes, green beans, peas, and diced potatoes; Onions; Bunches of celery; Small packages of carrots; Bottles of bouillon cubes; 1.4 oz jars of Marjoram and Thyme; 1 lb. packages of frozen ground beef; Packages of American cheese; Boxes of saltine crackers; Quart or gallon size cans of fruit.

The Catholic Community of Anderson Soup Kitchen Ministry is in need of men and women willing to prepare soup for the Soup Kitchen Ministry. There are five openings at this time. All supplies are furnished. You prepare the soup at home and return the soup to Holy Cross North school annex. For more information call Ron Cole at 779-4302.
