SIGHTSEEINGS: Chauk Htat Gyi Pagoda: an image of a reclining Buddha , 216ft in length and it is the third largest reclining Buddha in Myanmar. One significant thing is that, the eyes of this Buddha are made of glass and look like real human eyes. Chauk Htat Gyi reclining Buddha is the most elegant reclining Buddha image in the world.

Kandawgyi Park: actually known as Kandawgyi Nature Park is a popular center for recreation in the capital of Yangon. This beautiful garden is also known as Kandawgyi Garden and experiences heavy footfall throughout the year. The garden is spread across an area of 260 acres which is divided between the Kandawgyi Lake covering an area of 150 acres and the garden covering 110 acres. This lush green garden and the picturesque location allure foreigners and local visitors alike. : is the most sacred and impressive Buddhist site for the people of the Union of Myanmar. Shwedagon Pagoda is covered with hundreds of gold plates and the top of the stupa is encrusted with 4531 diamonds; the largest of which is a 72 carat diamond. It is clearly one of the wonders of the religious world. The Buddhist site forms the focus of religious as well as community activities: bustling of devotees, monks washing statues, flowers, worshiping and meditating.

Tayokye Pyay Temple: The temple had a formal title, long lost under the donor’s infamy of fleeing from the Chinese, ‘Tayoke Pyay’. The temple is elegant, tall and graceful. Two stairs set into the thick walls lead to the upper storey of this large temple. The terraces of are decorated with white-glazed rondos. Ornate and lovely stucco work can be seen on the walls and arch pediments. Golden Stupa of : is one of the oldest and most impressive monuments of Bagan. Most noticeable is the huge gold plated pagoda glimmering in the sun. Several shrines and temple buildings have been added to the complex since construction of the stupa in the year 1090. Htilominlo Temple: According to the chronicles, he built this temple at the very place where he was chosen as the crown prince out of five sons of King Narapatisithu. The temple is one of the Bagan monuments decorated with the finest plaster carvings. Portions of the carvings still remain undamaged on the arch pediments, freize and plasters, but the mural paintings can now be seen on the ceiling only.

Ananda Temple: is considered to be one of the most surviving masterpiece of the Mon architecture. Also known as the finest, largest, best preserved and most revered of the Bagan temples. During the 1975 earthquake, Ananda suffered considerable damage but has been totally restored.

Thatbyinnyu: With a height of just over 60 meters, the Thatbyinnyu Pagoda is one of the highest monuments of Bagan. The majestic pagoda, towering above other nearby temples and pagodas is visible from much of the Bagan plains. After the single storey pagodas built during the early period like the Shwezigon pagoda, the Thatbyinnyu is one of the first two storey structures built in Bagan.

Dhammayangyi Temple: is the largest temple on the plains of Bagan. From a distance it resembles the early step pyramids of Egypt. The enormous structure that was never completed consists of a massive square base topped by six receding terraces.

Sulamani Temple: The Sulamani is a large, very elegant multi storey structure from the late Bagan period. The temple was built during the reign of King Narapatisithu, a very prosperous time in Bagan.

Manuha Temple: King Manuha's inscription says that it was built in AD 1067 about a decade after the Mon king was brought to Bagan. The name of the temple was given after the name of the captive King Manuha. Traditionally, Manuha was considered one of the earliest temples at Bagan. Legend says that it was built by a Mon king named Manuha who had been defeated and brought to Bagan as a captive by Anawrahta.

Nan Paya Temple: Close behind the Manuha Temple, there is a shrine mostly known as "Nanpaya". It is said to have been used as Manuha's prison although there is little evidence supporting the legend.

Payathonzu Temple: consists of three distinct small square temples with vaulted corridors and porticoes, joined together by two vaulted narrow passages leading from the one into the other. There is a pedestal in each sanctum, but the images have disappeared and their exact nature is not known.

Lemyentha Temple: The first temple to the north of Minnanthu is the whitewashed Lemyethna temple, meaning 'Temple of the Four Faces'. The bright and airy temple was built in the early 13th century by a minister at the court of King Htilominlo in the style of Bagan's later temples.

Nandamannya Temple: Dating from the mid-13th century, this small, single-chambered temple has fine frescoes and a ruined seated buddha image. It’s about 650ft north of Thambula; a sign leads down a short dirt road. The murals’ similarity with those at Payathonzu has led some art historians to suggest they were painted by the same hand.

Mandalay: is the second largest city in Burma (after Yangon), and a former capital of Myanmar. The city is the economic and religious hub of upper Myanmar and is centred around the Royal Palace. It has wide lanes filled with bicycles and motorcycles and is known for its cultural diversity. Half of Burma's monks reside in Mandalay and the surrounding areas)

Mahamuni Pagoda: is a and major pilgrimage site.

Kuthodaw Pagoda: literally Royal , and formally titled Mahalawka Marazein is a Buddhist stupa. It contains the world's largest book.

Shwenandaw Monastery: was originally part of the Royal Palace in . When the capital city was moved to Mandalay, the building was dismantled, transported to Mandalay and rebuild there as part of the new all teak Royal Palace in 1857.

Soon Oo Pon Nya Shin Pagoda: It’s one of the oldest–and from all appearances, richest–of the many pagodas in . Sitting high on top of Nga-pha Hill, one of dozens of hilltops in the Sagaing Hills, it was built in 1312 by Minister Pon Nya, after whom it’s named.

U Min Thone Sae Pagoda: is located in Mandalay, Myanmar. This is one of the best spots visitors should come.

Bagaya Monastery: is located in the region of Mandalay, Burma. Located exactly to the southwest of the Inwa Palace, this absolute splendid piece of craft was built during the reign of King Hsinbyushin from 1763-1776. Also known as the Maha Waiyan Bontha , the Bagaya Monastery serves as the one of the main tourist attractions in Myanmar. Inle Lake: The lake, which measures 22 km long by 10 km wide, and sits in a valley between two mountain ranges, feels like a different world to the rest of Myanmar: in villages and towns across the lake, wooden houses are built on stilts and fishermen steer their one-man boats with a characteristic rowing style, wrapping one leg around their oar.

Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda: one of the holiest sites in Shan State, visited by Buddhist worshippers from all around Myanmar. The shrine itself is huge and features five ancient golden Buddhas, and next to it can be found a large golden barge, a replica of the one said to have been used by King Alaung Sithu to travel around the country.
