One based in Leicestershire, England, in the heart of the British textile industry and the other in our family’s home town of Navsari, India. OUR GROWTH Our group’s first factory was established in 1987. Due to the efforts and loyalty of our staff and clients, we were able to build a new factory in India specialising in lightweight cotton and wool knitwear, whilst our UK factory focused on delivering premium and luxury 100% wool range. This opportunity arose when one of our technicians relocated back home with his partner after the birth of their first child. Eldridge proposed the company name be Paul James, using the Christian names of his fellow directors. By 1980 Paul James Limited had outgrown it’s original site, so they acquired a 20,000 sq. ft. factory in Barwell, Leicestershire. They worked with the most prestigious high- street stores, exporting British-made knitwear to the USA. In 1994, HRH Princess Anne presented Paul James Knitwear with an award for Outstanding Export Achievement at a Gala dinner staged in a London hotel. In 1997, HRH Princess Anne visited the Paul James factory in Barwell, Leicestershire. Where she greeted the workforce, and unveiled a plaque tribute mounted on the wall. In 2005, Jack Masters acquired Paul James Knitwear Limited and relocated it’s operations to our knitwear factory miles away in Leicestershire, England. We identified a gap in the market for the growth of luxury British attire. Since then, we as a family have worked to preserve the Paul James legacy and develop it into a modern, desirable collection of quality knitwear and accessories. In 2006, we re-launched Paul James’ wholesale business with a range of timeless classics in modern fits, providing brands with bespoke services from our family owned and operated factories in Leicestershire, England and Navsari, India. 100% CHUNKY MERINO WOOL COLLECTION The Modern Chunky Merino Wool Cable Knit Jumper 100% MERINO WOOL SPUN IN PERU.
