S T U D E N T P A C K I N G L I S T
This is an essential list of what your son will need to participate in the activities offered by Petty Creek Ranch! Please trust us regarding which items are essential, as we will be accessing rugged terrain in the western Rockies and having proper equipment is vital to your son’s safety! Please call us if you have any questions regarding the items on this list.
MANDATORY ITEMS
Jeans 2 pairs of blue jeans, must fit and not be loose or baggy
Shorts 2 pairs of any athletic-type of shorts
Swim Trunks 1 pair
Short Sleeve Shirt 2 shirts, must be synthetic (quick-drying)
Long Sleeve Shirt 2 shirts, must be synthetic (quick-drying)
Long Underwear Lower body, must be synthetic
Hiking socks 2 pair, Smart wool or similar brands are a good idea as they prevent blisters. Rain Coat A breathable rain jacket is best
Hiking boot We travel terrain that requires a good quality hiking boot. Be sure they are waterproof and are above the ankle. Tennis shoes Old or used is sufficient
Undershirts, socks, underwear Please also pack several pairs of boxer shorts, white undershirts, and cotton socks for everyday wear around the ranch. OPTIONAL ITEMS (If your son already has these items, feel free to bring them)
Back-pack Must have a capacity of 4,000-5,000 cubic inches
Sleeping Bag Must rated for 0-20 degrees
ITEMS PROVIDED BY PETTY CREEK RANCH
Work Clothes We provide clothing that is compatible with our dress code, which consists of western style clothing and work gear. Winter Coats We will also provide warm winter jackets, hoodies, etc. for outer layers to be used around the ranch. Outdoor Equipment We provide all tents, sleeping bags, life vests, and other equipment your son will need to participate in the activities at Petty Creek Ranch Toiletries We provide soap, tooth brushes, tooth paste, deodorant, razors, etc.
