This Year's Selection is Spaceman by Mike Massimino Spaceman: An Astronaut’s Unlikely Journey to Unlock the Secrets of the Universe is the spellbinding true story of the Long Island boy who became a space traveler. Meet Author Rhiannon Navin Thursday, March 22nd @ 7PM Early praise for Ms. Navin’s novel Only Child has been outstanding. Booklist calls it “heart-wrenching” and an “important and timely book.” Publisher’s Weekly has said it is “an astonishing debut novel.” Ms. Navin will discuss her writing process and take questions from the audience during her visit. She will also sign copies of her book which will be available for purchase from the Friends of the Gold Coast Library.

Byron Nernoff Sunday, March 25th @ 2PM Meet Memories from the Attic author Byron Nernoff! Byron will be sharing stories of his life including anecdotes from his childhood and the Estonian-immigrant experience. With photos and documents, he will illustrate what life was like in Glen Head throughout the 20th Century, giving the audience a peek into the past culture and history of our wonderful community.

It's Duck Season! Go Out to the Ducks Game with Mr. V.! Friday, June 1st @ 6PM Meet Mr. V. at Bethpage Ballpark, 3 Court House Drive, Central Islip for a fun night at a Long Island Ducks game! Bethpage Ballpark is a 6,002-seat baseball park that opened in the year 2000 and serves as the home of the Long Island Ducks, an independent minor league baseball team that is a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. And you may even get to see Quackerjack dancing with Mr. V!

1,000 Books Before Kingergarten 1,000 Books is an early literacy initiative designed to promote reading to newborns, infants and preschoolers and encourage parent-child bonding through reading.
