ASHLEY GARDNER CARLSON Choreographer Ashley is always excited to be back at HCTO and especially to work on one of her favorite shows. This marks the 9th production of The Sound of Music she has been involved with; the first being her first professional gig at age 5 playing Gretl for Starlight in San Diego. Ashley has also choreographed and/or directed Thoroughly Modern Millie, , The Little Mermaid, and Matilda for HCTO and it’s always a blast collaborating and seeing what’s possible on our little stage. SEREN CARTER Brigitta von Trapp (MWF) Seren is a nationally award-winning dancer with a strong background in musical theatre. She played Amanda Thripp in HCTO’s Matilda, Young Fan/Carol Girl/Harriet Cratchit/Want in the 2019 and 2020 productions of A Christmas Carol at the HCT Sandy, Jane Banks in the Sandy Arts Guild production of , and Young Mindy in the upcoming movie I Was Engaged (the sequel to Once I Was a Beehive). It is a little-known fact that Seren adores .

MATTHEW R CARLIN Herr Zeller (MWF) Matthew is excited to be on stage at HCTO again. He was last seen as Bob Cratchit in A Christmas Carol; some of his other favorite roles include Porthos in The Three Musketeers, Harry Binion in Room Service, and Jonathan Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace. He also

MELANIE MCKAY CARTWRIGHT Maria Rainer (MWF) Melanie is absolutely thrilled to be back onstage at HCTO! She was previously seen as Kathy Seldon (Singin’ in the Rain) and Mary Jane (). Favorite credits include Mary (Savior of the World), Laurie (Oklahoma!), Amneris (), and Miss Dorothy (Thoroughly Modern Millie). When not onstage, Melanie can be found directing and choreographing productions in the UK, Illinois, and Salt Lake City, and playing “Mom” to her four amazing kids. “Many thanks to Neal, Korianne, and Ashley for this beautiful opportunity! SCARLETT CHAFFIN Gretl von Trapp (MWF) This is Scarlett’s debut on the HCTO stage, but she’s no stranger to musical theater. She is 8 years old and the youngest in her family, just like Gretl. She loves to dance, the color pink and kitties. She’s a goofball and always has a joke to tell. Scarlett loves being creative and using her imagination, and being on stage fulfils that. Scarlett would like to thank her family and friends who have helped her do something she loves...play on stage!

DANIEL CLEGG Herr Zeller (TThS) Daniel is a native of Midway, UT. He previously appeared in The Little Mermaid and at HCTO as well as in at SCERA Shell. Other past credits include Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Lionel in Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella, Freddy in , Javert in Les Misérables, and The

She has previously played the role of Mother Abbess as well as Baroness Shraeder at HCTWV. She was last seen here at HCTO playing Camilla in . Jasmyn started her love for musical theatre in her role as Nina in In the Heights and has since fallen in love with Jaz from Single Wide and Marmee from Little Women. When she’s not performing on stage, she is hanging out with her fiery 2 year old, supporting her husband through his Chaplaincy degree, or in front of the camera as a freelance model. Today, she is honored to make her debut at HCTO.

WHAT: So you want to be in a musical?! Well, now’s your chance! In this camp, students will INTERMEDIATE SEWING WORKSHOP (Summer Class) be given lines to memorize, dances and music to practice and perfect, and a chance to perform in a mini-musical at the end of the week!
