CYPRUS CYPRUS BROADCASTING CORPORATION CyBC Greek-language programming on shortwave via the BBC East Mediterranean Relay Station was discontinued in January 2013. BBC EAST MEDITERRANEAN RELAY STATION The BBC East Mediterranean Relay Station, operated by Babcock for BBC relays mainly to the Middle East, West Asia and North Africa, closed at the end of March 2013. TURKISH REPUBLIC OF NORTHERN CYPRUS RADIO BAYRAK INTERNATIONAL Bayrak Radio and Television Corporation is the official radio and television broadcasting corporation of the self-proclaimed Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. It had broadcast on 6150 kHz from a 25 kW transmitter, but is now believed to be inactive. EGYPT EGYPTIAN RADIO - GENERAL PROGRAMME The General Programme is the ERTU's flagship radio service. It was founded in 1934. Although intended primarily for a domestic audience, it has traditionally been broadcast on shortwave for Arabic-speaking listeners outside of Egypt. Now there are almost 800 publications, 100TV and 302 FM radio stations, 6 telecommunication companies, tens of news agencies, more than 44 licensed ISPs internet provider companies and several number of production groups are busy to broadcast information, drama serial, films according to the afghan Culture, and also connected the people with each other on national and international level. Afghanistan is a nation of 30 million people, and a majority live in its 37,000 villages. But low literacy rate (38.2%) is the main obstacle in Afghanistan, most of the people who lived in rural area are not educated and they are only have focus on radio and TV broadcasting. So, the main purpose of this study is the rapid growth of media in Afghanistan after the Taliban regime, but most of those have uncertain future.
