Descripción y evolución de la Feria Biofach es una feria de origen alemán, organizada por la misma empresa que organiza Biofach Nürnberg, que es una de las ferias más representativas del sector a nivel internacional. El mismo grupo lleva a cabo ferias del mismo sector, además de en Núremberg y Shanghái, en Tokio (Japón), Filadelfia (EE. UU.), Delhi (India), Sao Paulo (Brasil), Bangkok (Tailandia) y Riad (Arabia Saudí). En esta decimoquinta edición de Biofach China hubo 139 expositores nacionales e internacionales, de los cuales aproximadamente un 4% son extranjeros. Esta cifra supone una disminución con respecto al año 2020, en el que hubo casi 150 expositores. El impacto de la pandemia en la feria es claro, puesto que los viajes internacionales por razones comerciales se han visto prácticamente cancelados como consecuencia del cierre de fronteras chinas. Adicionalmente, es preciso señalar igualmente que la normativa ecológica/orgánica y/o biológica limita el número de empresas extranjeras en China, otra de las razones que contribuye a que esta feria presente un reducido número de empresas internacionales. En cuanto a empresas españolas, cabe destacar que en esta convocatoria no hubo presencia española en Biofach. En Anexo 1 se puede ver el listado completo de los 139 expositores. Según fuentes de la organización ferial, el número de visitantes ascendió alrededor de 10.000 lo que supone una continuación con respecto al año anterior, en el que todavía se nota el impacto de la pandemia a nivel de viajes comerciales. La feria cuenta además con la organización de numerosas conferencias y seminarios sobre el sector, en Anexo 2 se puede observar el listado completo de conferencias que se han celebrado. 5 Oficina Económica y Comercial de la Embajada de España en Shanghái IF BIOFACH CHINA & NATURAL EXPO CHINA 2021 3. Valoración En la actualidad, el mercado de los productos orgánicos en China es sin duda un mercado en pleno crecimiento, aunque todavía no alcanza el tamaño de otros países con mercados más maduros. Dicho crecimiento se debe a que una parte de la sociedad china se preocupa cada vez más por la salud y la calidad de los alimentos que consume. Los productos agroalimentarios orgánicos llegan al mercado con unos precios mucho más elevados que los productos convencionales, por lo que sólo aquellos consumidores con un nivel adquisitivo medio-alto pueden acceder a ellos. Al hablar de alimentación orgánica nos referimos siempre a alimentación certificada según la normativa vigente en cada país. El marco regulatorio que rige en China es muy restrictivo, y solo reconoce las certificaciones otorgadas por organismos autorizados en China. Esto es válido para todo tipo de productos, ya sean nacionales o importados. Al ser una exigencia de la regulación que todos los productos estén certificados por un organismo autorizado en China, las empresas extranjeras que quieran vender sus productos ecológicos con certificado orgánico chino deben someterse al proceso de acreditación pertinente, lo que resulta bastante costoso para ellas. Más aún cuando el certificado obtenido solo tiene validez de un año, transcurrido el cual debe someterse a una nueva inspección. En la práctica, lo que ocurre es que muchas empresas obvian la obtención del certificado, y venden sus productos bajo los calificativos de “naturales” o simplemente certificados como “orgánicos” en su país de origen, pero sin el sello chino, aprovechando la buena imagen a la que se asocian los productos importados en China. Participar en Biofach China puede ser muy interesante para las empresas españolas del sector que buscan hacerse un hueco en el mercado creciente en China de productos orgánicos. Sin embargo, es importante destacar que el tamaño de la feria es mucho menor que otras ferias en Shanghái del sector agroalimentario como FHC y SIAL, en las que se organizan pabellones oficiales y participaciones agrupadas españolas, que atraen a gran cantidad de visitantes dada la variedad de productos de importación que se presentan. Por ello, para definir la estrategia de promoción cabe considerar la conveniencia de la presencia en Biofach, en FHC, en SIAL o en todas ellas. 6 Oficina Económica y Comercial de la Embajada de España en Shanghái IF BIOFACH CHINA & NATURAL EXPO CHINA 2021 4.
