General information on the 24th Helsinki International Film Festival – Love & Anarchy

Accreditation Festival accreditation is open until September 9th. The accreditation form for members of the press can be found at www.hiff.fi/press. Accreditation applications will be confirmed by September 12th. For further information, contact the press coordinator.

Press material Preview copies of the festival films can be borrowed from the festival office. For a list of the DVDs, contact the press coordinator. The list can also be found online at the press picture database. All the festival press releases can be found at www.hiff.fi/press. More information and the password for the press picture database can be acquired from the press coordinator.

Press screenings HIFF will arrange a number of press screenings before the festival. See the attached list for details. For further information, contact the press coordinator.

Sale of festival passes and catalogues The sale of festival passes and catalogues will begin on Friday, September 2nd at Bio Rex in Helsinki. The festival catalogues will also be sold at several bookstores including Akateeminen Kirjakauppa (Helsinki & Espoo) and Suomalainen Kirjakauppa (Aleksanterinkatu & Kamppi). Between September 16 and 25 festival passes and catalogues can be bought from all the festival theatres.

Sale of tickets before the festival (until Septmeber 7 and 15) The sale of advance single tickets (à 8 euros) will begin on Wednesday, September 7th at 10am. Tickets to screenings at Maxim and Kinopalatsi can be bought from all Finnkino theatres in Finland and online at www.finnkino.fi. Tickets to screenings at Bio Rex, Kino Engel, Kesäkino Engel, Andorra, Dubrovnik and Orion can only be bought from Bio Rex and online at www.hiff.fi.

Sale of tickets during the festival (between September 16 and 25) During the festival, tickets can be purchased from festival theatres and online. Tickets to screenings at Maxim and Kinopalatsi can be bought from all Finnkino theatres and online at www.finnkino.fi. Tickets to screenings to Bio Rex, Kino Engel, Kesäkino Engel, Andorra, Dubrovnik and Orion can be bought from the respective theatres and online at www.hiff.fi. It is possible to print all online tickets at home.

The festival artists The visual identity of this year’s HIFF has been designed by actor-designer Ville Tiihonen. His anarchistic figures can be seen on festival posters and t-shirts as well as the covers of both the festival tabloid and catalogue.

This year’s festival trailer is called VIIMEINEN PISARA. It has been directed by the director of RARE EXPORTS, HIFF veteran Jalmari Helander. The trailer, starring Tommi Korpela, can be seen in theatres and online at www.hiff.fi.

HIFF online In addition to the HIFF website, this year’s festival is also present on Facebook (www.facebook.com/helsinkifilmfestival) and Twitter (www.twitter.com/LoveAndAnarchy). A brand new feature is the festival blog (www.rakkauttaanarkiaa.blogspot.com), which offers a look behind the scenes and an abundance of photos. Unfortunately the blog is written in Finnish, but the pictures are worth a look.
