    PRESS RELEASE Wereldhave sells Itis and exits Finland Wereldhave has reached agreement to sell the Itis shopping centre in Helsinki to a fund advised by Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing (MSREI). With this transaction, Wereldhave has made a large step in realising its strategic agenda to focus on convenience centres, whilst improving its risk profile and strengthening the balance sheet. The net price for the shopping centre including the deferred tax liability amounts to € 450m. This reflects a gross price of € 516 million which is 8.5% below the book value at 30 June 2018. The transaction is scheduled for December 2018, subject to completion of the Finnkino development project and antitrust approval. After completion, Wereldhave’s portfolio will be strongly focused on one asset class, with 29 convenience shopping centres in Belgium (7), France (6) and the Netherlands (16). As Itis accounted for 15% of the portfolio, the single asset exposure will decrease to 7%, which improves the risk profile of the Company. Once the disposal of Finland is completed, the LTV is expected to drop by 6%, thus significantly improving the capital structure of Wereldhave. As a result of the completion of the transaction and the associated loss of rental income in December, Wereldhave expects the direct result for 2018 to be between € 3.30 and € 3.35 per share (previously € 3.33 and € 3.38). The dividend can and will be maintained at the current level of € 2.52 in respect of 2018 and 2019. Nitrogen deposition has been roughly constant during the past 20 years, with only a minor decrease in the late 1990s. The resulting changes in the chemistry of small lakes have been followed by national monitoring programmes initiated in the 1980s in Finland (163 lakes), Norway (100 lakes) and Sweden (81 lakes). These lakes are partly a subset from the survey of 5690 lakes in the Northern European lake survey of 1995. Trend analyses on data for the period 1990-1999 show that the non-marine sulphate concentrations in lakes have decreased significantly in 69% of the monitored lakes. Changes were largest in lakes with the highest mean concentrations. Nitrate concentrations, on the other hand, were generally low and showed no systematic changes. Concentrations of non-marine base cations decreased in 26% of the lakes, most probably an ionic-strength effect due to the lower concentrations of mobile strong-acid anions. Acid neutralising capacity increased in 32% of the lakes.

    A Voluntary Local Review 2020 The implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the City of Turku Opening statement by the Mayor Cities are facing major challenges – climate change, digitalisation and the ageing and increasingly diverse population greatly impact on cities’ field of operation and require cities to be able to adapt to constant change. Adaptation and adjustment to conventional ways of doing things is also needed in order to reach sustainability on a global level. Cities and city networks have an ever-growing role to play as global influencers and local advocates in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Succeeding in accelerating sustainable development requires strong commitment and dedication from the city’s decision-makers and the whole city organization. Turku has a long tradition in promoting sustainable development and we want to make sure Turku is a good place to live in the future as well. Turku also wants to take responsibility and set an example in solving global sustainability challenges. That is why I consider it very important that Turku is among the first cities to participate in reporting city-level progress of achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. With this first VLR report, I am very proud to present the systematic work being done in Turku for sustainable development. I hope that the cities’ growing role in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development becomes more visible to citizens, business life, organisations, other cities, government and other interest groups. Together we have a chance to steer the course of development in a more sustainable direction.
