REGULATIONS 4(7) AND AMENDMENT OF DIRECTIONSISSUED IN TERMS OF 27(2) OF THE DISASTER 60 OF THE REGULATIONSMADE UNDER SECTION MANAGEMENT ACT, 2002 (ACTNO. 57 OF 2002):MEASURES TO ADDRESS, IN THE PUBLIC PREVENT AND COMBATTHE SPREAD OF COVID-19 TRANSPORT SERVICES
after consultation with theCabinet members I,Fikile Mbalula, Minister of Transport, responsible for cooperative governanceand traditional affairs, health,police, trade, industry and competition, and justice andcorrectional services, in terms ofregulations 4(7) and 60 of the Regulations made undersection 27(2) of the Disaster Management Notice Act, 2002 (Act No. 57 of2002), herebyamend Government No. 801, published in Government GazetteNo. 43538 of 22 July 2020, as set outin the Schedule hereto, to address, prevent andcombat the spread of the COVID -19 in the public transport services.

SCHEDULE
Definitions

Substitution of direction 7 ofDirections

"Public transport services, privatevehicles and loading capacityof public transport vehicles
7. (1) All long distance intra- provincial andinter -provincial travel by private vehicles and public transport services arepermitted. (2) For purpose of long distance travel, ascontemplated in regulation 60(1) of the Regulations - (a) minibus, midibus or minibus taxi -type services arepermitted to carry not more than 70% of theirmaximum licensed passenger carrying capacity for long distance intra- provincial traveland inter -provincialtravelandaresubjecttothefollowing limitations: (i) A minibus licensed to carry 10 passengers, islimited to carry a maximum of 7 passengers; (ii) a minibus licensed to carry 15 passengers, islimited to carry the maximum of 10 passengers; and (iii) a midibus licensed to carry 22 passengers, islimited to carry a maximum of 15 passengers;and (b) bus services are permitted to carry not more than70% of their licensed passenger carrying capacity for long distanceintra- provincial and inter -provincial travel.

Commencement
4. This amendment comes into effect on the date ofpublication thereof in the Government Gazette.
