Band: Ten (GB) Genre: Melodic Hard Rock Label: Rocktopia/Cargo Records Album Titel: Albion Spielzeit: 55:07 VÖ: 24.11.2014 Band: Ten (GB) Genre: Melodic Hard Rock Label: Rocktopia/Cargo Records Album Titel: Albion Spielzeit: 55:07 VÖ: 24.11.2014 "Albion" ist das inzwischen elfte Album der britischen Hard Rocker Ten, die seit ihrer Gründung im Jahre 1995 einiges an Erfahrungen sammeln konnten, was man auch sofort heraus hört. Schon direkt der hoch melodische Opener, "Alone In the Dark Tonight", macht den Weg klar, der hier erneut beschritten wird. Eingeleitet von einem kernigen Riff setzt sich die Nummer in einem absolut Ohrwurm-tauglichen Melodic Rock Song fort, der auf Anhieb zu begeistern weiß und alles beinhaltet was man von der Band auch erwartet. Das erwähnte tolle Gitarrenriff lädt zum Luftgitarre spielen ein, während einen der leicht bluesige und melancholische Gesang von Frontmann Gary Hughes sofort zu begeistern vermag und sich der tolle Refrain direkt im Ohr fest setzt. Großartig! Diese Linie zieht sich mal wieder konsequent durch das gesamte Album. Ergänzt durch tolle Keyboard Einlagen, die dem Ganzen eine ordentliche AOR Schlagseite verpassen, kommt dies alles sehr angenehm und atmosphärisch daher. Dazu gibt's die wunderbar gespielten Gitarrensoli und das tighte Drumming, sowie eine absolut tolle Produktion von Sänger Gary Hughes und Dennis Ward, welche ja schon unter anderem mit Unisonic, Bob Catley, Pink Cream 69 und vielen anderen erfolgreich gearbeitet haben. Wunderbare Melodien findet man hier wirklich massenweise, so zum Beispiel im tollen und episch geratenen "Albion Born", mit seiner tollen, mehrstimmigen Strophen-Führung und einem leichten Hauch Folk in der Melodie. Oder im groovigen "A Smugglers Tale", mit seinem catchy geratenen Refrain. Auch die erste Single, "Die For Me", stellt mit seinem, fast ein wenig an Kiss erinnernden, Haupt Riff eine absolut eingängige und überzeugende Rock Nummer dar. Zu guter Letzt bedienen die beiden Songs "Sometimes Love Takes The Long Way" und "Gioco D'amore" dann auch den balladesken Teil des Albums bestens. Fazit: Seit ihrem genialen Konzeptalbum "Babylon" konnten mich Ten nicht mehr so begeistern, wie jetzt mit ihrem neusten Werk "Albion". Die Scheibe ist voll mit großartigen Melodien, Emotionen und Harmonien, wie guter Hardrock sie zu bieten haben sollte. Eine perfekte rockig musikalische Untermalung für die herbstlichen Tage. So muss erwachsener Hard Rock klingen! The CD is compiled from at least 3 different performances and while I found the sound to be adequate to mediocre, the quality of their material does seem to shine through. While I wouldn’t put the band in my own personal Top 10 of 1970’s rockers, they are pretty good. I think it is a shame I wasn’t musically aware in the 70’s because I probably would have liked the band. They’ve got a lively and energetic sound tied to that particular era and it does keep the ears engaged, even during the first half of the disc where the quality of the recording isn’t even as good as some bootlegs I’ve listened to over the years. The audio quality is the biggest problem I had with the entire disc. I think if you are going to reissue this type of album, you really need to make the sound more Official Site presentable than what a typical bootlegger could accomplish. You want to check out tracks like “Detroit Girls”, “Any Way That You Want It”, and “Cherry Baby” in particular, but surprisingly at least to me, each song is pretty good. After the president declines to run for a second term, she begins campaigning in Season 3. At the end of Season 3, she becomes president when he resigns for personal issues. Due to a complex manipulation of constitutional law, she loses the presidential race in season 5.
