This Weeks’s Theme: Music and Movement

This week at Children’s Choice, we are focusing our curriculum around music and movement. We started off last week by brainstorming all of our favorite songs to put on a CD. Since then we have been dancing around the cafeteria every morning and most afternoons. It’s great to see the kids letting loose and gaining confidence in their sweet dance moves.

That you’re the Dancing’s Not a Crime by Panic! At the - Gary oldest. But the worst part is that you’re only the oldest We Will Rock You by Queen- Easton for one year. All Star by Smashmouth- Me. Ben Watermelon Sugar- Evan D How do you feel about going to middle school next Sunflower by Post Malone- Riley year? Eh, I’m not too excited. Uptown - Charlie B Feel Invincible by Skillet- Juliet Why is that? Well, I heard the principal is tough. Also Wolves by - Selah they banned ghost peppers from the school. Do Re Mi from the Sound of Music- Amelia What? Why did they ban ghost peppers? Kids were Shake It Off by - Bria being irresponsible. They were squirting it into their Firework from - Jay eyes. Bad Guy by - Soledad Old Town Road by - Shrey Wow, I feel like that would make you go blind! Yeah, Rhythm of the Night by Corona- Ms. Alicia they were doing it to get out of class. Call Me Maybe by - Mikaela Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day- Landen What’s the hottest thing you’ve ever eaten? Um, let’s Sunflower by Post Malone- Ozzi see. Tabasco sauce. The green stuff. I put a lot of it on Dance Monkey by Tones and I- Jacob my tacos. I really like the taste of it. A Whole New World from Aladdin- Autumn

Sea Shell Observation and Trading Orbeez Sensory Play and Color Sorting

Jay: This one looks like an ice cream cone and this one looks like an angel. Lily: This one looks like a decoration for your hand, but you could punch someone. Eva: This shell is big and pink on the inside.

Kingston: I gotta get all the blue, I have a lot. Amelia: I got a pink and a red, and I’m sorting them. Sophia: I made a rainbow. Eva: I’m using pink, orange and yellow. Kylan: I’m just doing colors. Look, this Orbee is huge and has Lily: Two spiky shells for the yellow shell? a weird shape! Eva: I don’t know, it’s a pretty cool shell. Lily: How can I get all of your white shells? Will you trade all of them for the really big one? Eva: I’d rather have more shells than a bigger shell. Lily: I’d like all the small ones though. Eva: But that doesn’t mean I have to give them to you.

Later that morning- Erik: I had heard you say earlier that you didn’t want to trade a bunch of little shells for a big shell but then I noticed that you ended up doing that trade. How did you decide to eventually trade those? Lily: Well, I don’t really have any little shells so I gave her those two big ones in trade because they are very pretty. These little white ones are also very pretty. Eva: Yeah I have so many little ones I was okay trading some of them so Lily could have some. I feel like it was a fair trade.
