Temple Emanu-El Welcomes You

Although not Jewish, a mother and her teen-age son attended Temple Emanu-El on January 4, because they were curious to see a Shabbat service. When asked “why” they specifically chose to attend services at Temple Emanu-El and not another local synagogue, they respond- ed, “Because the Temple Emanu-El website states that all are welcome to come for Friday Shabbat services.” They felt welcome before they even came. This welcoming feeling goes beyond the website. As they were leaving, they commented how the Temple Emanu- El members are friendly and how they wished that their church had name badges. Thank you, Welcome Ambas- sadors and Greeters for setting the tone as people enter our doors! Dana Rubin coordinates the Welcome Ambassadors and Kim Sheintal coordinates the Greet- ers. If you would like to be a part of our welcoming team, please contact Mem- bership Committee Chair Kim Sheintal at 941-921-1433.

Welcoming at the door with smiles are Ray Pendleton (Shomer), Betty Crane (Greeter), Sally Steele (Greeter), and Jay Steele (Welcome Ambassador).
