Sebut saja bebek air, banana boat dan balon air yang kerap diserbu pengunjung khususnya saat akhir pekan. Begitu pula Yacth Club. Fasilitas tempat berkumpulnya penikmat olahraga air seperti kayak, ski air dan menyelam ini tampil dengan wajah baru. Fasilitasnya direnovasi sehingga makin nyaman buat bersantai. Masih seputar tepian Danau Matano. Dermaga Sorowako juga kini tak sekadar tempat kedatangan dan keberangkatan penumpang yang ingin menyeberang dari dan ke Sorowako-Nuha. Pantai Ide adalah ikon Sorowako. Tempat ini menjadi pusat berkumpul dan rekreasi masyarakat sekitar maupun wisatawan menikmati akhir pekan atau liburan.

Konon, kalau ada orang menyebut “Bura-bura” di tempat tersebut lalu keluar gelem- bung, berarti dia dianggap orang baik. Tak jauh dari sumber mata air itu, tumbuh pohon bambu kuning. Menurut legenda, salah satu batang bambu tersebut menjelma menjadi gadis jelita yang kemudian menjadi pasangan La Matulia. Mereka kemudian mempunyai tujuh orang anak. Anak-anak mereka tersebut lalu merantau ke berbagai wilayah dan membangun komuni-komu- ninya sendiri. Sementara si anak sulung tetap tinggal di tanah tersebut dan membangun teri- tori kehidupan yang disebut “Rahampu'u” yang berarti tanah yang pertama ditinggali. Rahampu'u itu kemudian dikenal dengan nama Matano yang dipimpin seorang Mokole. Kini yang tersisa dari Kerajaan Matano di tempat tersebut hanya Bura-bura. Beberapa tahun lalu terdapat makam tua di sebuah bukit tak jauh dari perkampungan dengan benteng panjang sekitar 300 meter yang mengelilingi lingkar luar perkampungan. Namun jejak-jejak tersebut kini menghilang ditelan waktu dan alam. Konon, makam tua itu dipercaya sebagai kuburan La Makandiu, raja kelima Matano.

Yacht Club hanya beroperasi pada hari libur (Sabtu dan Minggu) mulai pukul 8 pagi hingga 5 sore. Sedangkan penggunaan fasilitas di luar hari tersebut perlu persetujuan pengelola.

Apalagi pihak pengelola kolam renang juga menyiapkan saung-saung di pinggir kolam dan taman yang cukup luas untuk pengunjung bersantai. Tempat ini menjadi favorit warga karena tiket masuknya juga terjangkau, hanya Rp10.000 tiap orang (harga dapat berubah). Pemandian alamiah buka setiap hari, kecuali Kamis dan Jumat karena jadwal pembersihan, mulai pukul 07.30 – 17.00 Wita. Bagi pengunjung tempat ini disarankan untuk membawa makanan sendiri karena pengelola hanya menyediakan kantin dengan pilihan sangat terbatas. Karena itulah pengelola juga mengizinkan pengunjung untuk memanfaatkan ruang- -ruang terbuka dan halamannya tempat barbeque. Kolam renang ini dilengkapi dengan toilet. Sedangkan sinyal seluler dan data yang lancar. Termasuk areal parkir yang cukup untuk kendaraan roda empat dan roda dua.

NGANGANDANO Inilah telaga yang berada di perbukitan Nuha. Lokasinya sekitar satu kilometer dari bibir pantai Danau Matano yang berada di Nuha. Berukuran sekitar 3 – 4 kilometer persegi dengan bagian tengah yang tampak seperti sebuah blackhole. Ngangandano berasal dari kata “Nganga” yang berarti mulut dan “Ndano” berarti danau dalam Bahasa Sorowako. Tidak banyak informasi tentang telaga ini. Konon, telaga ini difungsikan sebagai tempat peristirahatan sekaligus benteng bagi prajurit-prajurit Kerajaan Matano untuk menjaga batas wilayahnya berabad-abad lalu.

Hule, Gasing Khas Sorowako

Dieng F353, lengkap sudah nuansa Dieng Corner sebagai art & craft lab kebanggaan warga Sorowako. Di Dieng Corner, anak-anak mulai usia 5 tahun bisa belajar melukis dan membuat aneka prakarya dengan didampingi Yuni Fitriani selaku pendiri sekaligus instruktur. Sementara anak usia 5 tahun ke bawah yang ingin ikut kelas perlu didampingi orang dewasa. Kelas diadakan setiap akhir pekan, Sabtu dan Minggu. Anak-anak bisa memilih kelas pagi atau sore. Di musim liburan, Dieng Corner membuka kelas khusus untuk mengisi liburan sekolah. Biasanya kelas akan dibuka setiap hari dengan aktivitas yang bervariasi. Dengan uang pendaftaran Rp250.000 dan iuran per kegiatan Rp50.000 hingga Rp150.000, anak-anak sudah bisa menjadi siswa regular Dieng Corner. Sorowako Orchids Sorowako is part of the Sulawesi's "The Land of Orchid" area with its 500 species of the exotic flowers. Data from the South Sulawesi Regional Research and Development Agency and the Indonesian Institute of Sciences show that Sorowako has 109 endemic orchids species. Among them is the purple Spathoglottis plicata with only one stem of flower per plant when blooming that usually grows on the stone cliffs in Sorowako. There is also an orchid that can easily be found in the forest and roadside in Sorowako named Arundia graminifolia. This orchid can be distinguished from its typical yellow color with the brown spots.

Macaca This is the red bottomed Sorowako monkey. If lucky, you can see them sunbathing or eating fruit in groups on the roadside. Macaca lives in a colony and is usually led by a white and aggressive "leader".
