TOVE DAHLBERG, MEZZO-SOPRANO Allied with her luminous voice and flexible musicianship, Tove Dahlberg’s engaging stage presence makes her a strongly communicative artist in a repertoire ranging from Mozart to contemporary art song and jazz, while her compelling acting ability has won lavish plaudits. In 2011 Tove Dahlberg has played Dorabella and Cherubino in Lyon, as well as Mozart's Mass in C minor with Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Jerzy Semkow. In 2012 she sang Cleopatra at Folkoperan in Stockholm. In the winter 2009-2010, she sang Bach’s Christmas Oratory with Nicholas Kraemer and Collegium Musicum in Bergen and then made a cd recording of Mozart’s Mass in C minor with Harry Christophers and the Handel and Haydn Society in Boston. In the autumn 2010, Tove Dahlberg played Sièbel in FAUST at Folkoperan in Stockholm, and in December she went to the San Fransisco Symphony to sing Händel's Messiah. Tove Dahlberg's extensive concert and oratorio repertoire includes Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Mass in B Minor and St John’s Passion; Mozart’s Requiem and Mass in C Minor; Rossini’s and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, Vivaldi’s Gloria and Haydn’s Paukenmesse and Harmoniemesse. In 2006 Tove performed Hermia in Britten’s A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM in the classic sir Peter Hall production at the Glyndebourne Festival. She made her Glyndebourne debut as Mélisande in Debussy’s PELLÉAS ET MÉLISANDE for Glyndebourne on Tour in 2004, a role for which she was awarded the GOT Promise Award. Apart from this she has been doing concerts all over the world, including her Asian debut in Macao singing Haydn's Nelson Mass with Academy of Ancient Music. Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Tove Dahlberg studied jazz performance at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm before completing her studies at the University College of Opera in Stockholm in 2002.
