COMMENTS: Bright sunshine is likely on 38% of the year’s daylight hours. This might range from a low of 18% in gloomy December, to a high of 47% from June through August. The year’s lowest temperature should be close to 5/, and the highest should be near 90/. Sensible afternoon temperatures (the ones you feel) will be a degree or two cooler than actual ones during the warmer months, and about the same as actual ones the rest of the year. The area has a distinct mid-latitude four-season year, with cold winters and warm (rarely hot) summers. During the winter months, rain is as likely as snow—perhaps a bit more likely. Spring and autumn are seasons of transition, with the various frontal systems chasing one another across the landscape at intervals of three to five days.
