Vermont 100 Endurance Race

…to benefit The Vermont Adaptive Charity Ride is an annual event to enjoy the beauty of Vermont through cycling and all while raising funds for the state’s largest nonprofit organization committed to providing sports and recreation to people with disabilities.

Whether cycling on the 100-mile, 60-mile or 40-mile loops, or simply journeying on the 20-mile loop, the gravel grind, or the family-friendly 5K bike ride, there is something for everyone to enjoy during the Vermont Adaptive Charity Ride.

All courses start and finish at Long Trail Brewery, located on Route 4. The festivities continue for all after the ride, with a BBQ, live music and family entertainment, refreshments, a silent auction, vendor village and more.

Saturday, June 20, 2020 All Day Location: Long Trail Brewery/Killington Region of Vermont charityride.vermontadaptive.org This year's 32nd annual Vermont 100, part of the Grand Slam Series of Ultrarunning, benefits Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports. The Vermont 100 is the first trail race, and the first ultra-race, to include an Athletes with Disabilities division.

In order to officially complete the only remaining, original ultra- left in the country that includes runners and equestrian riders participating at the same time, racers must make the 30 hour cut-off time. There’s no teamwork in this race so runners and riders compete individually. The course features a "shamrock" loop through eight towns, and consists of 70 percent dirt or jeep roads with the rest on woods trails with a few miles of pavement. The course both climbs and descends 14,000 – 15,000 feet. The course opens for runners at 4 a.m. and riders at 5 a.m. Some runners will run an alternative 100-kilometer route while horses and their riders choose from the 100-mile loop, or 75- or 50-mile courses.
