The bowling season came to an end with the girls’ team played Truman high school. Though they had to settle for a runner-up spot in the Suburban One League standings, the team still played strong all season. The team suffered only three losses to conference rivals Truman and one to Pennsbury high school before losing its final critical game to Truman. “They are our rivals this year,” said head coach Gale Donohue before the meet. To prepare for meets, the team practiced three times a week and met on Sundays before the season started to familiarize themselves with each other. “We need to be able to communicate very well together. They need to be able to take my advice; I need to take their advice. We need to work as a unit to help the young bowlers, to help everybody,” Donahue said. The team is ranking very well this season, and so are the girls individually. The photo, originally shot simply for fun and creative expression, will now be on display at the college among 100 others and has the potential to be one of six final 500 dollar grand prize contest winners. The subject of the photo, or The real-life Popcorn Girl, Anna McFadden, a senior at Nazareth Academy, said, “…it’s insane to think that something my friend (Rita) and I do in our spare time is now getting recognition and praise.
