Weather permitting, work will be done at the following locations throughout the Treasure Coast. For updated lane closure information, please refer to www.d4fdot.com. Follow us on Twitter @ MyFDOT_SEFL. CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS MARTIN COUNTY 1. CR 714 / Martin Highway from west of Mapp Road to west of the Florida’s Turnpike Entrance Description: This 1.879-mile widening project consists of adding one lane in each direction and constructing a raised median with access points throughout the corridor. Additional improvements include: constructing an 8' sidewalk and a 5' bike lane on both sides of the roadway; milling and resurfacing of existing lanes; drainage improvements, including building two retention ponds; sound wall installation at Sunset Trace; replacing the box culvert at Danforth Creek; and signage, signalization, landscape and lighting improvements. Cost/Completion: $15.7 million. Completion is expected in fall 2016. Traffic Impact: · All lanes are open through February 6. · Eastbound and westbound traffic on CR 714 / Martin Highway from Martin Downs Boulevard to SW Berry Avenue is shifted north for construction. The new traffic pattern opens a work zone for construction crews to complete the widening of CR 714 and is expected to be in place until summer 2015. · Eastbound and westbound traffic on CR 714 / Martin Highway from Berry Avenue to Mapp Road is shifted south for construction. The new traffic pattern opens a work zone for construction crews to complete the widening of CR 714 and is expected to be in place until summer 2015. · The following sidewalks along CR 714 are closed for drainage and roadway reconstruction work: o The sidewalk along the south side of CR 714 from SW High Meadows Avenue to SW Palm City School Avenue is closed through the summer 2015. Pedestrians should use the signalized crosswalks at the SW High Meadows Avenue, SW Berry Avenue and SW Palm City School Avenue intersections. o The sidewalk along the north side of CR 714 from SW Palm City School Avenue to SW Mapp Road is closed through the summer 2015. Pedestrians should use the signalized crosswalks at the SW Palm City School Avenue and SW Mapp Road intersections. 2. State Road 710 / Beeline Highway from east of the Florida East Coast Railway Crossing to east of SW Fox Brown Road Description: This 10-mile design/build project consists of widening the existing two-lane roadway to add two 1.5-mile passing lane segments, one in each direction. Other improvements include milling and resurfacing of the existing lanes and construction of new shoulders, guardrail installation, and drainage modifications. Cost/Completion: $6.92 million. Completion in early 2016. Traffic Impact: · Intermittent lane closures on SR 710 may occur Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for maintenance repairs. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic. 3. Big John Monahan Bridge on State Road 710 / Warfield Boulevard from SW Trail Drive to east of State Road 76 / Kanner Highway in Indiantown Description: Street lighting will be installed along Big John Monahan Bridge on SR 710 / Warfield Boulevard from SW Trail Drive to east of the entrance ramps to SR 76 / Kanner Highway. Cost/Completion: $ 337,659.30. Completion in early 2015. Traffic Impact: · All lanes are open. This project has been completed. 4. I-95 Lighting Installation between Bridge Road and High Meadows Road Description: This 5.382-mile project includes installation of a new lighting system along both the northbound & southbound lanes of I-95 from north of CR 708 to south of High Meadows Road, and installation of eight pedestal mounted bridge poles on the bridge over the St. Lucie River. Cost/Completion: $2.8 million. Completion in summer 2016. Traffic Impact: · All lanes are open through February 6. 5. US 1 / SE Poinciana Lane Intersection Description: This 0.833-mile project includes installation of street lighting along US 1 in both directions at the SE Poinciana Lane intersection, from SE Ridgeway Terrace to South of SE Heritage Boulevard. Cost/Completion: $303,333.58. Completion is expected spring 2015. Traffic Impact: · One lane in either direction of US 1 from SE Ridgeway Terrace to SE Heritage Boulevard will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. for the installation of light poles and light pole foundations. 6. US 1 just south of NW Baker Road in Stuart Traffic Impact: · One northbound lane of US 1 just south of NW Baker Road will be closed Wednesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for billboard installation. 7. US 1 between Medalist Place and Heritage Boulevard in Hobe Sound Traffic Impact: · One northbound lane of US 1 will be closed Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. for utility work. 8. Jensen Beach Bridge in Jensen Beach Traffic Impact: · The right shoulder in either direction of the bridge will be closed Monday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for a bridge inspection. · The right lane in either direction of the bridge will be closed Tuesday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for a bridge inspection. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic. 9. US 1 at Cove Road in Stuart Traffic Impact: · The northbound inside lane of US 1 at Cove Road will be closed Wednesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for repairs. · The southbound inside lane of US 1 at Cove Road will be closed Wednesday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for repairs. ST. LUCIE COUNTY 10. State Road A1A Bridge Rehabilitation over the FPL Discharge Canal in Jensen Beach Description: This 0.085-mile-long project includes replacing the existing concrete bridge deck and approach slabs, milling and resurfacing the roadway at the approach slabs, concrete spall repairs of the piles and pile caps, and installing a corrosion protection system to the piles and pile caps. Cost/Completion: $1.8 million. Completion in fall 2015. Traffic Impact: · The speed limit has been reduced from 45 mph to 35 mph at the bridge until fall 2015. · The northbound lane of A1A at the discharge canal will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. for deliveries. · Traffic in both directions of A1A at the bridge is shifted slightly west to facilitate the bridge work. This traffic shift is expected to be in place until spring 2015. During this time, there will be no shoulders for bicyclists and pedestrians will not have sidewalk access across the bridge. 11. State Road A1A / East Ocean Boulevard in Martin and St. Lucie Counties Description: Marked crosswalks with rectangular flashing beacons are being installed at three locations on A1A in Martin and St. Lucie Counties. Cost/Completion: $167,302. Completion in early 2015. Traffic Impact: · One lane in either direction of A1A may be closed intermittently Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. at the following locations. A flag crew will maintain two-way traffic: o Hutchinson House Condominium on NE Ocean Boulevard, approximately 350 feet south of NE Shore Village Terrace. o Island Shoppes on NE Ocean Boulevard, approximately 590 feet north of NE Causeway Boulevard. o Marriott Hotel on S Ocean Drive, approximately 200 feet north of Aqua Ra Drive. INDIAN RIVER COUNTY 12. I-95 from the St. Lucie/Indian River County line north to State Road 60 (Osceola Boulevard/Exit 147) at Vero Beach Description: I-95 is being widened from the St. Lucie/Indian River County line north to State Road 60 (Osceola Boulevard/Exit #147) at Vero Beach. Improvements in this 6.84-mile-long project include: adding one lane on I-95 in each direction; removing old asphalt and repaving the existing lanes; reconstructing the SR 60 interchange; reconfiguring turn lanes and adding traffic signals at the SR 60/94th Avenue intersection just west of I-95; replacing the I-95 bridges over 4th Street (Citrus Road), 90th Avenue and SR 60; traffic signal and highway lighting improvements; constructing sound barrier walls adjacent to the Lakewood Village, Department of Corrections Housing and Indian River Aerodrome communities; and landscaping. Cost/Completion: $54.4 million. Completion in early 2015. Traffic Impact: · The speed limit on I-95 is 60 MPH at all times on the northern four miles of the project, from five miles north of Indrio Road (SR 614/Exit 138) to just north of State Road 60 (Exit 147). · Motorists should be alert for slow moving construction vehicles entering and leaving the travel lanes. · One lane in each direction of I-95 will be closed overnight Sunday through Thursday between 9 p.m.
