Overview
In an elevated position above a winding lane that heads right into the heart of Massa Lubrense on the Sorrento Peninsula is historic Villa Tiresia. The restaurants and shops of Massa Lubrense are within a 5-minute walk, while the Marina del Puolo with its sandy beach is just a 10-minute drive away.
With the majority of the villa dating back to the late 18th century, it boasts plenty of character and idyllic grounds that reflect its rich history. Due to the villa's position, you can enjoy views stretching out to the Gulf of Naples and the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida in the distance.
The authentic feeling starts the moment you enter Villa Tiresia, with the hallway being an original part of the property. Beautiful paintings, classic wood furniture and tile floors all add to the sense of heritage and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Unwind in the living area under a barrel-vaulted ceiling on the elegant sofa in front of the fireplace. Wrought iron and glass doors open onto a terrace for sunset al-fresco meals. On chilly evenings, dine by soft chandelier light at the grand table indoors.
Six characterful bedrooms are spread across the first floor and enchanting attic level. Two of the three first-floor bedrooms feature a double bed, and one of them has an en-suite bathroom. The third bedroom is perfect for children as it has a single bed. Enjoy terrace access to start each morning with lovely views over peaceful surroundings. The three attic-floor bedrooms all have a double bed and en-suite.
Take a stroll through the picturesque gardens studded with old olive, lemon and orange trees. Then cool off with a dip in the pool or refreshing drinks under the romantic pergola.
Just 15 minutes away by car is ever-popular Sorrento. It has a wonderful old town with plenty of historic sightseeing to do, as well as lively squares to relax and soak up the atmosphere. Piazza Tasso is one of the most popular spots to take a break in the town.

With the heart of Massa Lubrense less than a five-minute walk away, Villa Tiresia is ideally located for reaching a range of amenities. Follow winding lanes into the village to enjoy a restaurant meal, browse shops and stock up on groceries. Marina Lobra is the starting point for boat trips to some of the islands that can be glimpsed in the distance from Villa Tiresia, including Capri, Ischia and Procida. Many of the villages and towns that dot the beautiful Amalfi Coast can be reached from this port.
Just a 10-minute drive away is the nearest sandy beach, Cala di Puolo. It's a traditional fishing village that boasts a lovely sandy stretch and calm swimming waters. You can hire sun loungers for maximum enjoyment of the beach, with several restaurants close by for a seafood lunch.
The pretty town of Sorrento can be reached in 15 minutes by car and is one of the best places for a day out. Famous for its lemons, the town is dotted with shops selling lemon-themed souvenirs and local crafts. A highlight of Sorrento is its old town. It's full of historic buildings, including a bell tower, cathedral, monastery and the 14th-century church Chiesa di San Francesco. When you need a break from all the sightseeing, head to Piazza Tasso to explore its cafes, ice cream shops, restaurants and bars. It's one of the most popular places to relax with a drink and do a bit of people-watching.
Many ancient sites are within an hour's drive, such as the archaeological site of Pompeii. The spectacular and still-active Mount Vesuvius is around a 90- minute drive from the villa.
