He had been diagnosed with cancer 18 months ago. Webster ran a garage until 1983, when he went into partnership with Norrie Kerr to form Midland Scooter Centre (MSC). MSC grew into the largest scooter-only business in the country, with Webster the Lambretta tuner and Kerr on Vespa tuning. The duo dominated scooter racing in the Eighties; Webster won a staggering eight British Championships. Webster leaves behind two sons, Andrew, 26, Dave Webster (right) with Norrie Kerr Richard, 24, and wife Lynne.
