The Dolphin Challenge is for Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Rangers, Leaders and Trefoil members.

Dolphin shaped badge measures 3⅞” high and 3⅛” wide and cost £1.00 each - plus postage

Welshpool Guides and Rangers have produced this challenge and badge to raise funds for the units and towards international trips.

Dolphin Challenge Please adapt any of the activities to suit your unit or make up your own challenges. Rainbows should aim to complete at least 3 different challenges of their choice. Brownies should aim to complete at least 4-5 challenges Guides, Senior Section, Leaders and Trefoil should complete at least 6 different challenges of their choice.

1. Dolphins are mammals – find out about other mammals that live in the sea. 2. Colour in a dolphin picture. 3. Use iris folding to make a dolphin card. 4. Take part in an environmental project on a beach, (beach litter pick). 5. Visit a sea life centre, aquarium etc. 6. Make a dolphin using . 7. Decorate biscuits with dolphins using icing. 8. Make a dolphin using shells, driftwood or other natural found on the beach. 9. Make a dolphin using . 10. Dolphins eat fish and squid – eat some fish or try some squid. 11. Use marzipan, fondant icing to make dolphins - models that you can eat! 12. Watch the film “Free Willy”. Learn about the effects of keeping dolphins in captivity and discuss the animal welfare issues with others. 13. Use glass paints to decorate a jar or glass with dolphins and sea life. 14. Create a of dolphins. Each person could make a dolphin for the collage.

15. Learn about the dolphin family and the different species. 16. Find out about the work of dolphin conservation groups and raise some money to help. 17. Make a dolphin. 18.
