In the traces of Laces series, designed by Kathy Bungard of Gracewood Stitches, here is the floral one. It is designed on a background of violet, in two tones, as if it were a gemstone through which light was filtering. This see-through effect, combined with the vigourous motifs, is quite impactful visually. The blooms almost seen to explode into life, as if they were fireworks.
The Traces of Lace series feature various lace motifs on different color backgrounds. The designs are all the same size so you can to stitch a pair or a series (such as cushions, of framed displays). Designer, Kathy Bungard, mounted her stitched work into a patchwork to hang on a wall and offers a tutorial with the cross stitch chart.

The patterns can also be mounted as cushion covers. If you feel creative, you could even select your own set of colors for each design and match them to the colors in your home. Make sure you select each duo of colors so that you maintain this gemstone/see-through effect.
The design is worked in Assisi stitch, which is cross stitch were the main motif is left blank and all the surrounding background is stitched in color. This gives particular emphasis to the floral motifs.
The pattern can be easily adpated, should you wish to stitch it in needlepoint or tapestry. All you neeed to do is fill the blank with white thread. It could be worked on a blank canvas in tent stitch for example.
