Exakt vier Jahre nachdem sich Jakob Schubert 2012 in Paris zum ersten Österreichischen Weltmeister im Vorstieg krönte, sorgte der 25-jährige Innsbrucker Sonntag Nachmittag mit seiner wohl besten Saisonleistung mit WM- Silber im Vorstieg für das rot-weiß-rote Highlight der Kletter-WM 2016. Mit einer Silbermedaille, zwei Fünften Plätzen durch Anna Stöhr (Bouldern) und Jessica Pilz (Vorstieg) sowie drei weiteren Top-10 Platzierungen durch Katharina Saurwein (Bouldern), Magdalena Röck und Christine Schranz (jeweils Vorstieg) zieht der Kletterverband Österreich eine zufriedene Bilanz und blickt der Heim-WM 2018 in Innsbruck sowohl aus organisatorischer als auch sportlicher Sicht entgegen. Paris (FRA): Das Vorstieg Finale der Herren am fünften und letzten Tag der Kletter-WM 2016 in Paris war eine Show der Superlative der besten Seilkletterer der Welt. Grundlage für das Spektakel war eine Finalroute die alles zu bieten hatte. Schwierige Boulderpassagen, spektakuläre Sprünge sowie eine einzigartige Ausstiegsplatte boten den Athleten eine einmalige Bühne um ihr Können vor rund 9.000 Zusehern unter Beweis zu stellen. „Alles oder Nichts“ im Finale Jakob Schubert, der nach dem Halbfinale mit Zwischenrang 4 keine perfekte Ausgangsposition hatte, nahm von Anfang volles Risiko frei nach dem Motto „Alles oder Nichts“ und fightete die Finalroute hoch bis in die Mitte der Ausstiegsplatte. Mit einer Höhe von 42+ übernahm Schubert souverän die Zwischenführung. Nach Schubert scheiterten die Zweit- und Drittplatzierten, Gautier Supper (FRA) und Domen Skofic (SLO) an Schuberts Vorgabe und so war nur mehr Titelverteidiger Adam Ondra im Rennen um WM-Gold mit Jakob Schubert. Die Stimmung im Finale war vergleichbar mit 2012 und es hat sich mindestens gleich gut angefühlt wie vor 4 Jahren. Ich habe alles gegeben und eine perfekte Leistung abgerufen. Mir bedeutet die Silbermedaille extrem viel, da ich sie auch für das Team geholt habe. Platz in der Qualifikation für das WM-Achtelfinale im Speed qualifizierte, bestätigte heute ihren starken Auftritt von vor 2 Tagen. Im direkten Duell mit der Polin Klaudia Buczek hatte Lach im Achtelfinale zwar das Nachsehen sicherte sich aber mit einer Zeit von 09,35 sec den ausgezeichneten 11. It was composed of three disciplines, and the final rankings were determined by computing the product of each climber's rankings in the three disciplines, with the lowest score winning. In this paper, we compare this product-based scoring method with the more usual sum-based method. As well, we propose and analyze a new method based on taking the sum of the square roots of each climber's rankings. 1 Introduction: Sport Climbing and the 2020 Olympics While outdoor rock climbing has a diverse and lengthy global history, competitive sport climbing1 is relatively new, with the earliest records of competitions being held on artificial walls in the 1980s [9]. ROCK MASTER FESTIVAL TO THE HEART OF THE MATTER ARCO, August 30th, 2012 – Climbing superstars approach Rock Master Festival in Northern Italy International Open events today and tomorrow to access the final competition Arco Rock Legends Award Ceremony scheduled tomorrow night Paraclimbing World Cup successfully hosted last Tuesday The city of Arco and its Climbing Stadium prepare themselves to the final weekend of the 10- day sport climbing event named Rock Master Festival. Next Saturday and Sunday, some of world’s best climbers will show up on the Italian walls and battle it up in Lead and Boulder competitions. Reigning world champions Ramon Puigblanque, Angela Eiter, Anna Stöhr and Dmitry Sharafutnidov will certainly be among the… rock masters, but they won’t be alone, as flipping through the starting list there are also Adam Ondra, Jakob Schubert, Sasha Digiulian, Maja Vidmar, Nina Markovic and Italy’s Lucas Preti and Jenny Lavarda, among the many. Today Arco has hosted an International Open Lead competition and climbers from Russia, France, Greece, Italy, Israel, Ecuador, Mexico, Slovenia, Venezuela and Chile gathered at the bottom of the main wall, with the firm intention to conquer one of the five free spots to the Rock Master Lead competition. Slovenia’s Urban Primozic and Klemen Becan easily topped both ways and got the bib to Sunday’s event. So did Italy’s Silvio Reffo, Chile’s Tomas Ravanal and Venezuela’s Reinaldo Camacho. On women’s side, Russians Evgenia Malamid and Dinara Fakhritdinova, and Alizée Dufraisse of France topped both ways and earned a ticket to the main competition scheduled on Sunday.

Yet again this event has mutated and from 28 August to 6 September it will also celebrate the World Youth Climbing Championships 2015; over a thousand young climbers from across the globe are expected and Arco, and the Arco Rock Legends, are currently adding the finishing touches to celebrate this absolutely unique event. Mélanie Sandoz, the new Boulder World Champion 2012 « If someone has told me one month ago that I would be World Champion, I would not have believed it! It is totally magic to be at the top in France, especially in Bercy! » … said the French women Mélanie Sandoz, who still can not really realized what she has achieved. Only her main rival Anna Stohr, World Champion 2011, could have won the Final. But she fell and ended at the third place behind the Russian athlete Olga Iakovleva. Kim Jain ahead of the overall ranking The Korean athlete Kim Jain finished at the first place. The native Cécile Avezou took the second place with a big ovation from the public. Kingler Petra, the Swiss athlete, ranked third. Victory of Urko Carmona Barandiaran in Paraclimbing « It is a great victory to win the title in lead. Last year in Arco, I won in speed.
