Biographical Note

Steve Agostini is a former employee of and webmaster for the Pennsylvania Railroad Technical and Historical Society.

The Main Line of the Pennsylvania Railroad was a rail line in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania, connecting Philadelphia with via Harrisburg. It is still an important cross-state corridor, composed of 's Philadelphia to Harrisburg Main Line, SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale Line and the 's Pittsburgh Line.

Scope and Content

The collection consists of photographs of thirty-nine bridges on the Philadelphia Division of the Pennsylvania Railroad, which ran from Philadelphia to Harrisburg. The photographs were taken by or for the company as a form of property documentation. Most of the bridges have now been replaced by newer
