SUBJECT: A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to negotiate and to enter into a contract with RP Utility & Excavation Corp. for drainage improvements at Dante Fascell Park. BACKGROUND: Staff conducted an assessment at Dante Fascell Park and discovered that the swale, located on the south end of the tennis courts, is filled with run-off material consisting of Har-Tru clay, crushed stone and mud. After a rainy day or watering of the tennis courts, the runoff enters the swale which prevents water from percolating into the ground, thus creating a ponding issue and safety hazard for patrons. Our goal in completing this project is to improve and resolve the ponding caused by the run-off from the existing tennis courts. The contractor is responsible for installation of an exfiltration trench (Fnmch drain) system and raised concrete sidewalk, just to name a few. The City recently hired a consultant-Milian, Swain & Associates, Inc.-to complete professional engineering services. With this report complete, the City submitted a Request for Proposal (RFP) #PR-2015-16 on Monday, July 20, 2015 for "Drainage Improvements at Dante Fascell Park". Four (4) submittals were received; RP Utility & Excavation Corp. was the 10llVest bidder and is in compliance with the terms of the RFP. City staff consulted with the contractor's references as to hands on experience. Based on that information, we recommend entering into an agreement with RP Utility & Excavation Corp. due to cost, qualification and experience. The City Manager is also authorized to expend an additional $3,000 of the contract price for 26 unforeseen conditions. Funding for this project will come from Parks and Recreation Capital 27 Improvement account number 301-2000-572-6450, which has a balance of $45,249 before this request 28 was made. A copy of the contract is attached. 29 30 Section 2. Severability. If any section clause, sentence, or phrase of this resolution is for any 31 reason held invalid or unconstitutional by a court of competent jurisdiction, the holding shall not affect 32 the validity ofthe remaining portions of this resolution. 33 34 Section 3. Effective Date.     July 2016 – Achachairu (Bolivian Mangosteen) Bonita Springs Tropical Fruit Club Newsletter Who we are and what we do: The Bonita Springs Tropical Fruit Club, Inc., is an educational not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to inform, educate and advise members and the public in the selection of tropical and subtropical fruiting plants and trees, to encourage their cultivation, and to provide a social forum where members can freely exchange plant material and information. The club cooperates with many organizations, and provides a basis for producing new cultivars. We function in any legal manner to further the above stated aims. Meetings: Regular membership meetings that include an educational program are held the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings begin with a tasting table at 6:45 PM followed by a program at 7:15 PM, at the First United Methodist Church, 27690 Shriver Avenue, Bonita Springs. The meetings are held in the "Fellowship Hall" meeting room. Workshops: Workshops (monthly discussions) are held on the fourth Tuesday of each month. This open format encourages discussion and sharing of fruits and information. Bring in your fruits, plants, seeds, leaves, insects, photos, recipes, etc. This is a great chance to get answers to specific questions, and there always seems to be a local expert on hand! Abstract Mango plantations (Mangifera indica Linn.) are generally flowering once a year. By technological innovation, the mango inflorescences period can be carried out over the flower season (Off Season). The purpose of this study is to examine the insect diversity of visitors to mango flowers in spring (on-season and off-season). Research was carried out in March-May and July - September 2017. The study was conducted in Rembang District, Pasuruan Regency, East Java with the topography of 60 meters above sea level with an average temperature of 26°C - 32°C and a minimum humidity of 80% - 88%. The insect diversity of visitors to mango flowers is observed by purposive sampling method, and periodic direct observation (scan sampling) is carried out. Data were analyzed with the help of the R statistic application version 3.4.1 and vegan package version 2.4-4. The results of the study were 17 species, 12 families, and 5 orders. The percentage of insects is dominated by 51% order Hymenoptera, 46% Diptera, Lepidoptera, Homoptera, and Hemiptera 1% each.

Mango (Mangifera indica L.) germplasm can be classifi ed by origin with the primary groups being cultivars selected from the centers of diversity for the species, India and Southeast Asia, and those selected in Florida and other tropical and subtropical locations. Accessions have also been classifi ed by horticultural type: cultivars that produce monoembryonic seed vs. cultivars that produce polyembryonic seed. In this study we used 25 microsatellite loci to estimate genetic diversity among 203 unique mangos (M. indica), two M. griffi thii Hook. f., and three M. odorata Griff. accessions maintained at the National Germplasm Repository and by Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Miami, Fla. The 25 microsatellite loci had an average of 6.96 alleles per locus and an average polymorphism information content (PIC) value of 0.552 for the M. indica population. The total propagation error in the collection (i.e., plants that had been incorrectly labeled or grafted) was estimated to be 6.13%. When compared by origin, the Florida cultivars were more closely related to Indian than to Southeast Asian cultivars.

Mango (Man gifera indica L.) germplasrn can he classified by origin with the primary groups being cultivars selected from the centers of diversit y for the species, India and Southeast Asia, and those selected in Florida and other tropical and subtropical locations. Accessions have also been classified by horticultural type: cultivars that produce monoembryonic seed vs. cultivars that produce polyembryonic seed. In this study we used 25 microsatellite loci to estimate genetic diversity among 203 unique mangos (M. indica), two M. grtjjillzii Hook. f., and three M. odorata Griff. accessions maintained at the National Germplasm Repository and by Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden in Miami, Fla. The 25 microsatellite loci had an average of 6.96 alleles per locus and an average polymorphism information content (PlC) value of 0.552 for the M, indica population. The total propagation error in the collection (i.e.. plants that had been incorrectly labeled or grafted) was estimated to be 6.13%. When compared by origin, the Florida cultivars were more closely related to Indian than to Southeast Asian cultivars.
