Activities and Achievements

During their time in the Pack, Cub Scouts will get a chance to try a wide range of different activities as well as going on trips, days out, and on camps. Participation and personal development, rather than meeting set standards, is the key approach, and there are a range of badges and challenge awards that Cub Scouts can gain to recognise their achievements. For Cubs, excitement and adventure are key. Their programme offers a huge variety of activities surrounding the areas of:

Induction Newsletter Earning Badges at Cubs

We have spoken about the different activity badges earlier. When we plan our meetings we try and vary the amount of badges we add into the programme and we also try to include badges that may involve doing things that the Cubs perhaps wouldn't do on a regular basis.

This, along with other activities, seasonal events and trips, make up how we shape our programme. As a result, we don't always have the time to include all the badges available for Cubs to earn during the time we have available.

However, it is possible for your child to Image caption: complete badge work outside of our normal Cub meetings. History of Warley Church & Scouting at Warley

Built in 1877-78 by William Swinden Barber (fl 1855-98), architect of Halifax, at a cost of approximately £4,000. The interior was significantly re-ordered c2005 when the pews and choir stalls were removed, and an altar was set up on the north side of the nave.

Scouting has long been a part of Warley St Johns Church and we have always been really fortunate to have a very healthy membership of all the sections of Scouting.

Use of the Church Hall (AKA Sunday School) means that we have access to very good facilities and plenty of space to work with during our weekly meetings.
