The Old Rectory | | | TQ12 Seller Insight

We moved to The Old Rectory over 16 years ago, we had been looking for a long time for the right home, so it was a relief when we stumbled across The Old Rectory as it offered everything we needed. Essentially, we needed two homes in one, my sister Nell was moving back from and I had children, it was important that we found somewhere that worked well for all of us. Everything else we looked at seemed to suggest a converted garage was good enough to call accommodation!

The Old Rectory gave us a large family home as well as a substantial two-bedroom cottage which also had a large living space. Having the additional road entrance meant the cottage could really be a standalone home if we chose.

Over the years it’s been great watching the boys grow up, they loved playing a game of football in the lower garden and of course, we all enjoyed the summertime parties around the pool too.

As well as being the perfect home for us, the location has proved to be brilliant for us, we love to walk our dog down to the river or through the woods. We can even be on the moors in 15 minutes, in fact, you can see the moors from the garden! The beaches at and Shaldon are also just a short drive so it really has been a great place to bring up the kids.

We’ll really miss The Old Rectory, especially the easy access to the A38 and town, but it’s time for us to move. We really hope another family enjoys it as much as we’ve done over the years.”*
