Muni bus routes providing alternate, parallel service to BART service within San Francisco are indicated with numbers, while Muni rail lines are indicated with letters. Adult full Muni fare is $2. Youth and Senior/Disabled fare is 75 cents. Exact change or Clipper Cards are required on Muni vehicles; tickets can be purchased at the Metro vend- ing machines in the subway stations for use at subway fare gates. To reach San Francisco International Airport or other peninsula destinations use SamTrans or Caltrain service.

In the event of a BART strike, commuters to San Francisco are advised to avoid peak driving periods by working at home if possible (or traveling earlier or later than usual), form a carpool or try casual carpooling, or take an alternative form of transportation such as taxi, bicycling or walking. Delays are anticipated.

Bus Routes: s 8X Bayshore Express, which includes 8AX and 8BX routes, serves BART stations: Balboa Park, Powell and Montgomery. The 8 routes terminate near Fisherman’s Wharf. s 14 Mission, which includes the 14 Limited route, serves BART stations: 24th Street Mission, 16th Street Mission, Civic Center, Powell, Montgomery and Embarcadero. The 14 routes begin in Daly City at John Daly Boulevard and and terminates on Steuart Street at Ferry Plaza. s 14X Mission Express serves BART stations: Powell, Montgomery and Embarcadero. The 14X begins in Daly City at John Daly Boulevard and Mission Street and terminates on Steuart Street at Ferry Plaza. s 30 Stockton serves Caltrain at 4th and King streets, Market Street/Downtown, Chinatown, North Beach and the Marina District. s 45 Stockton-Union serves Caltrain at 4th and King streets, Market Street/Downtown, Chinatown, North Beach, Russian Hill and Union Street. s 49 Van Ness-Mission serves BART stations: Balboa Park, 24th Street Mission and 16th Street mission. The 49 terminates at and North Point Street. s 48 Quintara-24th Street serves 22nd Street Caltrain Station, 24th Street BART Station and the West Portal and 20th Street Muni Metro stations and terminates at 48th Avenue. s 54 Felton serves BART stations: Daly City and Balboa Park and connects with the Muni T Line at Williams Stations in the Bayview/Hunter’s Point area and terminates on St. Charles, just outside the Daly City BART Station.

Rail Lines: s J Line serves BART stations: Balboa Park, Glen Park, Civic Center, Powell, Montgomery and Embarcadero. s K Line serves BART stations: Balboa Park, West Portal, Civic Center, Powell, Montgomery and Embarcadero. s N Line serves Civic Center, Powell, Montgomery and Embarcadero. The N Line begins at Ocean Beach and terminates at Caltrain at 4th and King Street Station. s T Line serves Civic Center, Powell, Montgomery, Embarcadero and 20th Street. The T Line terminates at Sunnydale Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard.
