BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) from OAK is fast, easy and inexpensive too! Just take the convenient AirBART shuttle bus from OAK to BART to catch the train to downtown San Francisco. The entire trip takes about 45 minutes and costs only $6.55 one-way or $13.10 round trip.
Visitors Guide to BART
The BART station is located in the SFO International Terminal. It’s only a five minute walk from Terminal Three and a 10 minute walk from Terminal One. Both terminals have connecting walkways to the International Terminal. You can also take the free SFO Airtrain to the BART station.
The AirBART shuttle departs every 15 minutes from the 3rd curb across from the terminals. When you get off the shuttle at the Coliseum BART station, buy a round trip BART ticket from the ticket machine. Take the escalator up to the westbound platform and board a San Francisco or Daly City bound train. The BART trip to San Francisco takes about 20 minutes.

It’s easy to get to San Jose and Peninsula cities from SFO. Just take BART to San Bruno and transfer to a Millbrae train. When you arrive at the Millbrae station, transfer to a southbound CalTrain. If you’re a U.S. resident, you can make your trip easier by purchasing an OAK Travel Pack or SFO tickets in advance at

mailed within 24 hours. Please order tickets a minimum of two weeks before your departure.
You can also take BART sightseeing around the Bay Area! Our trains run throughout the picturesque East Bay and San Francisco neighborhoods where there are numerous parks, hiking trails, museums and interesting places to visit. In Oakland you can visit the Museum of California; or the popular Rockridge district for dining and boutique shopping. You can also go to Berkeley to visit the University of California campus or renowned restaurants like Chez Panisse.

Plan your BART trip in advance at www.bart.gov. Use the QuickPlanner for train schedules and directions to your hotel. First choose the departure station, then select Enter an Address above the Arrival box, enter your hotel address and select Get Schedule. For directions to your hotel, select the tab next to BART Trip Details.
