Super Junior Official Fanclub E.L.F-Japan Magazine Vol.0014 SUPER JUNIOR OFFICIAL FANCLUB E.L.F-JAPAN MAGAZINE VOL.0014 SPECIAL SOLO INTERVIEW - Eunhyuk Qn 1 : The most treasurable item that you have since young is ? Ans : I had always received lots of letters from boys and girls and also friends since I was in an elementary school and I always kept and treasure them too. Qn 2 : The most difficult time that happened during the world tour is ? Ans: The environment and the setting conditions are different for each country, when it is time for a performance , the helicopter cannot be used due to it settings being different , we will try to collabrate the solutions that happened on the spot and then solve those problems, this requires a better performance to be organize properly, and the workload will be increased and be much heavier, although there’ll be certain parts that has much disturbence , but we had already gone through it , so not much of a big problem . Qn 3 : Do you have a MC and a schedule for every different country ? Ans : For MC cases , we will try to use this country language , When organizing for South America tour , basically is using Spanish to communicate , we did some preparations . Qn 4 : In [Lo siento] , a Latin style and a passionate , sexy attitude is formed , being SUPER JUNIOR what type of challenge in style will you want to try out after today ? Ans : We have already given everyone a lot of different styles, why no return to this kind of fresh and cheerful style is not bad though. AH ! Qn 5 : Is there any members that you will like to apologize for ? Can you use this chance to say something ? Ans : ah I want to say I am sorry to Ryeowook. I am always busy with my work until there is no resting time for me, so I cannot meet him, we shall fix a time when he is on vacation so I can treat him for dinner , and also it has been half a year that I did not keep my promise , could not bring(treat) you to have some delicious food. When Kyuhyun returns, we will prepare a new performance with him together next time. Qn 6 : what are the things that I am concerned about for this year? Ans : Really it is still the hectic schedule that I had in my job ! Before the comeback I am still worried if I cannot work what can I do ah ? As a result , I was so busy until I cannot focus and also I don’t have energy to even do anything but I am able to work happily and without ease so I feel really blessed. Qn 7 : Which member do you think is the most handsome and living his ideal life? Ans : Currently I think it’s Shindong . Taking part in movies production and also filming other artists mv and also CF (Commerical Films). He has this dream of doing this for a long time since the past , I also know that he has talent, and at the same time being part of SUPER JUNIOR , by expanding his activites . Being the second one myself , I always wanted to do my dream job and also want to fulifill my dreams , I personally feel it’s a great achievement. Qn 8 : Which member do you think is living the ideal life and what is the 3 conditions that he should prepare? Ans : This is definitely being said out when dealing with females , their perception of an ideal man ? Then according to my situation, firstly I need to lighten my workload , If I have someone that I really loved, and it is also that I am so busy so the time for us to meet together is getting lesser , this is not considered not a prefect man. The second point is, the skills and standards to cook a dish must be set higher a bit. I am really not an expert in cooking anything , no matter what I do , I will take a few hours example : 1 to 2 hours , the taste will not be consisent and cannot be predicted . Lastly , emmmm to become a much more stronger man . A healthier man has more charms right? Recently, I feel that my health has some problems , so I been taking extra care of my own body. What I had thought for now is just the 3 points. Qn 9 : The most recent item that you bought and it has interest you is ? Ans : Did not go for any shopping much recently , nothing much to buy. Qn 10 : The most recent keyword that you had been searching is ? Ans: what is it ? AH ! Recently is because I want to give everyone a new style and also showcase a new attitude, so I researched on many different hairstyles , the styling and the colors. Qn 11 : Regarding the world tour in september for D&E , compared to the previous world tours, is there any room for improvement and which sections do you think and hoped that everyone will focus on ? Ans : Accordingly to the topic STYLE , from our music to the current trend, there are many changes in the appearances in the different aspects , we are still exploring . In the performance sections is also a workmanship with the performancers and also through discussion , Everyone please anticpate. Qn 12 :The time frame for our world tour has led u to a longer stay in Japan . I want to go somewhere with Donghae , what is the thing that you want to do? Ans : Me and Donghae wants to have time for resting , so we must go to a sauna (hot bath) . Coming to a Sauna , enjoying its aroma , take a good break for 2 to 3 days. .

Qn 3 : At times when there's a difference in the show times for the world tour , during the performance is there any amendments in any areas or sections ? Ans : In the process , an image (VCR) will be inserted into one of the sections ,it will be collaborated with the location of each place ，changes will be made , At Taiwan . it will be related to somewhere of it ，At Philippines , it will be also related to it , for example , In South America , the backdrop was a place with snow that was flying and floating around , so the editing was to be collaborated with the members camera for the images (VCR).

Teóricamente se sustenta en las nociones de espacios de afinidad (Gee, 2005) y de cultura participativa (Jenkins, 2015). La metodología es de tipo cualitativo, se aplicaron entrevistas episódicas (Flick, 2007) a fans caleñas del grupo Super Junior. A partir de los datos, es posible señalar que en la configuración de los espacios de afinidad participan múltiples procesos, organizaciones y actores sociales, entre los que se destacan los sistemas de producción cultural o industrias culturales coreanas, ecosistemas de medios o redes sociales y las dinámicas participativas e interactivas de los fans, aspectos que favorecen la circulación e incorporación de productos culturales coreanos en un grupo de fans que residen en la ciudad de Santiago de Cali.

    Online Fandom: Social Identity and Social Hierarchy of Hallyu Fans Atiqah Abd-Rahim Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, [email protected] ABSTRACT Hallyu fans are people who are dedicated to popular culture in South Korea, including music, drama and film. This study focuses on fans of Korean pop music, which is known as K-pop. Developments in digital communication technology have given rise to media such as forums, websites, video channels, and fan sites that are consumed by K-pop fans. Fans participate in multiple fandoms because these websites are easily accessed by public audiences. However, problems arise when fans start to compete, using their knowledge to help validate their existence and to help the perception of authentic identities within fan communities. This paper is based on virtual ethnographic fieldwork that identified fans’ constructions of their own identities and the building of a social hierarchy through various online practices. The research findings are based on four months of fieldwork with two online Hallyu fandoms; ELF (Ever Lasting Friends) and A.R.M.Y (Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth). The findings reveal that conflicts exist in certain fandoms which aid in defining fan identities and, at the same time, fans undertake positive socialising actions which contribute to the fandom itself. Interactions between fandoms also need to be recognised, since online fandoms can be seen as borderless. Adapun yang menjadi komponen penelitian antara lain pakaian, aksesoris, haircut, make up, bentuk tubuh, dan ekspresi setiap personil Super Junior. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif interpretatif berdasarkan model semiotik dari Roland Barthes berupa sistem tanda yang dibagi menjadi denotasi dan konotasi yang membentuk mitos untuk menghasilkan makna. Data dikumpulkan dengan mengamati adegan- adegan dalam rekaman video klip Bonamana dan mengambil adegan-adegan yang dianggap mampu mewakili maskulinitas Super Junior. Unsur-unsur dari video klip Bonamana dimaknai oleh peneliti selaku interpretan berdasarkan pengalaman yang diperolah dari interaksi sosial sebagai anggota masyarakat atau budaya tertentu. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa dalam video klip Bonamana, Super Junior merepresentasikan citra pria yang sedemikian rupa sebagai idola. Gaya berbusana mereka dikontrol oleh manajemen. Hal ini merupakan bagian dari strategi pemasaran artis-artisnya. Mereka tidak hanya menjual suara ataupun talentanya dalam bermusik, tetapi juga memasarkan citranya. Kemudian, maskulinitas yang direpresentasikan juga bermacam-macam. Beberapa scene menunjukkan adanya pria baru, namun sebagian juga masih merupakan maskulinitas tradisional. Ini membuktikan bahwa maskulinitas yang dihadirkan dalam video klip Bonamana merupakan komoditi dalam industri hiburan Korea. Kata Kunci : Bonamana, Super Junior, Semiotika, Representasi, Maskulinitas Pendahuluan Pada tahun 90-an pengaruh Bollywood maupun Telenovela menjadi tontonan wajib bagi masyarakat Indonesia, lain halnya dengan sekarang. A contextual analysis needs therefore to take all these elements into consideration. This paper aims to show how K-Pop plays a crucial role in promoting ideologies, and defining gender roles. It does so by analyzing the music and image of the Taiwanese-American originating singer Amber Liu. Liu goes against the standard gender identification and behavior that Korean society imposes on women, and by doing so she can be said to represent a shift in the portrayal and performance of femininity through K-pop. But, how is her gender behavior tolerated, and to what extent is this a stage behavior required and promoted by her management company as a way to mark out difference?
