THEATRE • THE PRICE •

Written by Arthur Miller, The Price sees two estranged brothers reunited for the first time in 16 years to divide up their dead parents’ estate. One of the brothers stayed in the boys’ hometown to care for their sick father while the other left home and forged a successful career as a surgeon. Set in New York, the play originally opened on Broadway in 1968. In typical Miller fashion the claustrophobic domestic setting quickly becomes a medium for asking bigger questions about society: dealing with family, regret, loyalty and the prices that the individual characters pay in persuing their life choices.
