Dec. 1958 Special “AWARDS” Edition In this special edition, we honor our State and National champion

4-H Club members in North Carolina. And as we honor these we, at the

same time, pay tribute to every 4-H Club Member in North Carolina who,

to the best of his ability, has lived up to the 4-H Club motto, "To Make

The Best Better. "

Every person in North Carolina may well be proud of the achievements

of our 4-H members in county, state, national, and international affairs. No

state can boast of a finer record of achievement. Great as these achievements

are, they are due in a large measure to the untiring efforts and the devoted

and consecrated leadership of the Extension workers who have given more

than they were expected to give in the way of service and influence in the

direction of 4-H activities; to the sympathetic understanding of parents

interested in obtaining the best training possible for their boys and girls;

and to individuals and business organizations who, through the years, have

given their moral and financial support to the 4-H program in North Carolina.

To all of you, 4-H members, parents, Extension workers, sponsors,

and local leaders, we, the members of the 4-H staff, express grateful ap— preciation for the privilege that has been ours in working with you; and

throughout the new year we wish for each of you happiness complete, pros- perity sufficient to provide the necessary comforts of life, and health ade-

quate for the full enjoyment of all the days to come.
