WORLD WIDE RELEASE CHRISTMAS 2018 ‘Silent Night’ the film, is being shot between December 2017 and March 2018 in and around wintry Salzburg; the birthplace of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the setting of ‘The Sound of Music’ - and also the birthplace of ‘Silent Night’, the world’s most famous Christmas carol.
Additional shooting locations include New York, Berlin, Vienna, London, Prague, Florence, Los Angeles as the home of our featured artists. They will share Christmas as it is celebrated in their home, revealing traditions, performing their favorite Christmas Song and of course talking about their personal relationship to ‘Silent Night’.
Linking these stories will be the history of ‘Silent Night’. Its original creation in 1818 is being dramatically reconstructed and we’ll follow the carol’s incredible journey around the world. We’ll re-enact the incredible moment when this song for peace, actually caused a cease-fire on the frontline trenches of the First World War. And we’ll capture the moment when Bing Crosby’s unforgettable rendition of ‘Silent Night’ became a pop culture phenomenon in 1935, selling 30 million copies and becoming the Christmas songbook for countless music stars.
A new version of this truly iconic carol, with all the below mentioned artists will be produced together with “We are the World” producer and multi-Grammy winner Humberto Gatica.
At the heart of this unique moment in music history will be the World Orchestra for Peace along with renowned instrumentalists, the Vienna Boys choir and, as a grand finale, a ‘World Choir’.
The master delivery is scheduled for November 2018.
