DIRECTIONS FOR USE: In half litre milk, add one cup of water (150ml) and boil. Add contents of the packet and boil stirring continuously for about five minutes. Keep stirring as it cools. FAQ’s :

1) What kind of milk should be used ? Any kind of milk with any fat percentage can be used.

2) Are there any other flavours available ? Yes. Besides Kashmiri Kesar (Saffron), we also offer Royal Pista (Pistachio) and Shahi Gulab (Rose) flavours.

3) Can falooda be served without ice cream ? Yes. Falooda can be served without Icecream. Ice cream is optional.

4) Is this falooda the same as served with Kulfi ? No. This is a falooda beverage. Falooda of Kulfi is normally sweetened and flavoured vermicelli.

DESCRIPTION : Falooda (Hindi: फ़ालूदा) (also Faluda), is a cold beverage popular in the Indian subcontinent. Traditionally it is made from mixing rose syrup, vermicelli, psyllium (ispaghol) or basil (sabza/takmaria) seeds, tapioca pearls and pieces of gelatin or jelly with milk or water.

Falooda is a version of Persian dessert known as faloodeh and is believed to have brought to India during the Mughal period. Vermicelli used for preparing faloodeh is made from arrowroot whereas vermicelli used in the Indian version is usually made from wheat.

The ice was gathered during the winter or carried from the mountain tops and stored in large insulated underground chambers topped by dome structures. This allowed ice to remain available

throughout the summer, even in the desert. The best use was made to prepare desserts like falooda. Later on, as techniques improved, rose water and sugar were added with the vermicelli. Today there are many versions of falooda.
