Signing put their reputations on the line. g{x h Af AVÉÇáà|àâà|ÉÇ : Their signatures gave weight to the document, but it was the following ratification contest that really mattered. g{x h Af AVÉÇáà|àâà|ÉÇ : Ratification embodied the powerful idea of by the people—that has been at the heart of the Constitution from its begining until today.

The original document was stored in various cities until 1952, when it was placed in the National Archives Building in , D.C.
