DEAG takes stock: overwhelmingly positive response to the second year of DEAG Festivals

Almost 200,000 spectators at ROCKAVARIA, ROCK IN VIENNA, ROCK IM REVIER and the – ALLMEND ROCKT

It’s rocking! The four rock festivals staged by DEAG in Germany, Austria and Switzerland met with an overwhelmingly positive response from rock fans. Almost 200,000 spectators attended "ROCKAVARIA" in Munich, "Rock in Vienna" in Vienna, "Rock im Revier" in North Rhine-Westphalia and the "Sonisphere Festival - Allmend rockt" in .

Already into their second year, DEAG rock events have become a permanent feature in the European festival calendar, garnering a sensational response from the public and the media. The “Bote” newspaper in Switzerland raved about “Central Switzerland’s greatest ”. The “Kurier” in Austria was equally effusive: “At the start of the second rock festival, the fans arrived on the Donauinsel in Vienna, giving the festival a bombastic feel of early summer. (…) Not even the most daring optimists would have counted on such a bombastic audience at the start of the festival.”

Despite the fact that weather was at times changeable, there was a superb atmosphere at all four festivals. There were no particular incidents at any of the events. The advantages of the Urban Festivals were again apparent in the fact that the fans were able to get there by car or public transport and were able to spend the night at home or in a hotel.

The calibre of the line-ups could not have been better: top international acts such as , , Mando Diao, , , Iggy Pop, In Extremo, Sabaton and provided the musical highlights.

The CEO of DEAG, Prof. Peter Schwenkow is more than satisfied with the outcome and draws a positive conclusion: “The festivals have shown that our investment in the open air events have paid off. In just our second year, we have been able to win over and inspire a regular audience with some great bands and fantastic events. We find this very motivating!”

And fans have reason to be pleased, because the festivals will carry on: plans for 2017 are already in full swing!
