Statement of Commitment Beta Rho Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta

I understand that the Fraternity of Phi Gamma Delta and the Beta Rho Chapter are founded upon the values of Friendship, Knowledge, Service, Morality, and Excellence, and I realize that each individual brother and pledge is responsible for preserving the history, tradition, and good name of Phi Gamma Delta and Beta Rho.

I agree to comply fully with the policies, rules and regulations of the Beta Rho Chapter of Phi Gamma Delta, the International Fraternity, and Louisiana State University. I understand that I am subject to all penalties and fines established by such authorities.

I further agree that I will strive to the best of my ability to strive for the best possible Beta Rho Chapter at Louisiana State University. In doing so, I agree that I will live by this commitment:

• Realizing that I represent all brothers of this Fraternity at all times and in every place, I will respect the dignity of all persons with whom I come into contact and act as a gentleman at all times.

• I will respect the Beta Rho Chapter house and its property and work to maintain it in a clean and orderly manner. I will not tolerate the abuse or neglect of our house, nor will I tolerate the abuse or neglect of any brother’s personal property.

• I will pay all of my financial obligations within 15 days of the invoice.

• I will serve on at least one committee or in an officer role and work for the advancement of the Chapter. • I

will support and obey the Fraternity’s Risk Management Policy.

• I will strive to achieve the highest scholarship of which I am capable, and I will encourage my fellow brothers and pledges to do the same.

• I will attend all chapter meetings and functions; if I cannot attend for good reason, I will notify the officers and obtain an excused absence from them.

• I will memorize and respect my part in the Ritual and encourage my brothers to do the same. • I

will not tolerate the illegal use or abuse of alcohol.

• I will not tolerate the sale, use, or possession of illegal drugs in any form.

• I will fully support and enforce the Alcohol-Free Housing Policy when the Chapter does not hold the Alcohol Free Housing Exemption.

I understand that the Chapter Officers of the Beta Rho Chapter have the obligation and responsibility to remove me or any other brother who does not live up to this statement of commitment. I realize that I too am obligated to hold my brothers accountable to this commitment and to report those who do not comply with it.
