Phi Constitution for the Epsilon Chapter

Preamble

We, the sorors of the DELTA PHI EPSILON Sorority, in order to foster and promote the ideals and principles of this Sorority, so establish the Constitution for the Epsilon Gamma Chapter of the DELTA PHI EPSILON Sorority.

Article I

This chapter shall derive its rights and powers solely from this Constitution. This chapter’s rights, privileges, and duties to act shall be limited only the International Constitution and By-laws, the By-laws of the DELTA PHI EPSILON Sorority, and the rules and regulations enacted in pursuance thereof.

Article II

Any woman of good moral character and fitness, being in regular attendance at Stevens Institute of Technology, where this Chapter is located, and not being a member of any other social sorority, may be eligible to become a member of this Sorority, under regularly prescribed recruitment procedures.

Article III

Section 1. A. The Leadership Team of this Chapter shall be: President, Vice President of Operations, Vice President of Programming, Vice President of Recruitment, Vice President of Membership Development, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Member at Large, Vice President of House Management B. All Team Leaders and Members shall be members in good standing of this Chapter C. The Leadership team requires a 2.5 grade point average, except the Vice President of Academic Affairs, which requires a 3.0 Grade Point Average. All team members require a 2.35 grade point average D. In the event an elected officer’s grade point average drops below the standard defined, the officer must resign

Section 2. The Leadership Team shall be chosen by a majority vote of those members present at the Election meeting, provided that there is a 2/3 quorum. Article IV

Section 1. This Chapter shall hold at least one meeting every week during the academic school year at the Chapter House or in any other place designated by the President.

Section 2. The President may declare quorum upon the presence of at least a majority of the active members of this Chapter.

Article V

An application for permission to grant honorary membership must be secured from the International Governing Board and filled out before permission will be granted.

Article VI

Section 1. An appointed Leadership Team has the opportunity to propose amendments, alterations, or revisions to this Constitution and/or By-Laws, and present the Constitution and/or By-Laws before the Chapter for approval.

Section 2. Any Chapter member may propose amendments, alterations, or revisions to this Constitution and/or to the By-Laws provided that they are in good standing.

Section 3. No amendment, alteration or revisions of the provisions of this Constitution or of the By-Laws thereof shall be made without a 2/3 affirmative vote of the total number of active sisters, and consent of the International Governing Board.

Section 4. This Chapter may suspend a By-Law of this Constitution with a 2/3 affirmative vote of the total number of active sisters.
